Pleckstrin homology domain leucine-rich repeat protein phosphatase (PHLPP) increases the sensitivity of multiple myeloma (MM) cells to bortezomib by upregulating lysosome-associated membrane protein 2 (LAMP2), while their clinical role in MM patients is unclear. This study aimed to assess the intercorrelation between PHLPP and LAMP2, as well as their associations with treatment response and survival in MM patients who received induction treatment with bortezomib. ⋯ PHLPP is positively correlated with LAMP2, and their high expressions predict favorable treatment response and PFS in MM patients who receive induction treatment with bortezomib.

The pivotal role of microRNAs (miRNAs) in the pathogenesis of gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) have been increasingly highlighted in recent studies. ⋯ The expression of miR-144-3p is elevated in pregnant women with GDM. MiR-144-3p may be involved in the regulation of GDM by targeting FOXO1.

Variants in the bone morphogenetic protein 2 receptor gene (BMPR2) are the most frequent genetic cause of pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). However, correlation of BMPR2 variants and PAH clinical phenotype remains to be elucidated. ⋯ Further studies on larger number of participants, using advanced NGS technique, should be performed to enrich information about genotype/phenotype correlations and incidence of PAH disease among Egyptian population; thus, it would provide families of PAH patients with accurate genetic counseling in order to prevent disease recurrence.

Cementless fixation in total knee arthroplasty (TKA) has been associated with higher revision rates in the past. However, due to advancements in design, as well as surgical techniques, cementless TKA performance has significantly improved. The advantages of cementless fixation include reduced cement-related complications, shorter operating times, and the potential benefits of osseointegration. We aim to assess the improvement in revision rates for cementless TKA over the last 9 years based on international registry reports. ⋯ International registries demonstrate increased utilization of cementless TKA. Cementless TKA was reported to have lower revision rates in the most recent US and New Zealand annual reports when compared to cemented TKA.

Post-COVID-19 syndrome (PCS) causes persistent symptoms that impair quality of life, and telerehabilitation (TR) provides an effective remote alternative for addressing these challenges. ⋯ A TR-based exercise program significantly reduced dyspnea and pain intensity while improving functional capacity in PCS patients, making it an effective alternative to unsupervised exercise regimens.
