Factorial validity and invariance of questionnaires measuring social-cognitive determinants of physical activity among adolescent girls.
There are few theoretically derived questionnaires of physical activity determinants among youth, and the existing questionnaires have not been subjected to tests of factorial validity and invariance. The present study employed confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) to test the factorial validity and invariance of questionnaires designed to be unidimensional measures of attitudes, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control, and self-efficacy about physical activity. ⋯ Evidence was provided for the factorial validity and the invariance of the questionnaires designed to be unidimensional measures of attitudes, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control, and self-efficacy about physical activity among adolescent girls.

Physical load in daily life and low back problems in the general population-The MORGEN study.
We studied the contribution of physical load in daily activities, including activities in work, housekeeping, and leisure time, to the burden of low back problems (LBP) in the population. ⋯ Because LBP present such a large public health problem, the estimated potential impact of eliminating (the unhealthy effect of) physical load is substantial. To assess the real health gain, more insight is necessary into the causality of the relationship and into effective preventive measures.
