Multicenter StudyRegorafenib-to-trifluridine/tipiracil Versus the Reverse Sequence for Refractory Metastatic Colorectal Cancer Patients: A Multicenter Retrospective Real-life Experience.
Regorafenib (REG) and trifluridine/tipiracil (FTD/TPI) have have been shown to improve overall survival in patients with refractory metastatic colorectal cancer. The aim of our study was to evaluate the efficacy and safety profiles of these agents administered in sequence in real world practice. ⋯ The sequence REG-to-FTD/TPI and vice versa can extend survival, whereas only REG-to-FTD/TPI stabilizes cancer growth.

The Impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic on Breast Reconstruction Practices in the United States.
We employed a survey to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) to investigate the management of breast reconstruction across the US during the COVID-19 pandemic. ⋯ COVID-19 has forced the breast surgical team to adapt to new conditions to the detriment of women with breast cancer requiring reconstruction. Varying restrictions have limited access to breast reconstruction, carrying consequences yet to be determined.

Salvage Therapy After Regorafenib or Trifluridine/Tipiracil Treatment of Metastatic Colorectal Cancer: A Conditional Landmark Analysis.
This study aimed to describe the chemotherapy effects after trifluridine/tipiracil (TFTD) and/or regorafenib treatment in colorectal cancer (CRC) patients. ⋯ The chemotherapy after regorafenib or TFTD was associated with prolonged OS in advanced CRC patients. Further study is required to determine appropriate treatment choice.

Early Drain Removal Regardless of Drain Fluid Amylase Level Might Reduce Risk of Postoperative Pancreatic Fistula.
Drains are frequently placed at the time of distal pancreatectomy (DP) to evacuate pancreatic juice and intra-abdominal exudate and obtain information on abdominal cavity status. However, the timing of drain removal remains debatable. Meanwhile, prolonged drain placement might increase the risk of postoperative pancreatic fistula (POPF), with a prevalence of 5-40%. Therefore, we examined the effect of removing the drain within postoperative day (POD) 3 on the risk of POPF development. ⋯ Early drain removal regardless of DFA level may reduce the risk of developing POPF. CRP measured on POD 3 and POD 5 appeared to be a useful predictor of clinically relevant POPF.

Practice Variation in the Adjuvant Treatment of Colon Cancer in the Netherlands: A Population-based Study.
Adjuvant chemotherapy is recommended for a subgroup of colon cancer patients based on patient and tumour characteristics. Population-based data on the adoption of the prevailing guideline recommendations including the assessment of tumour mismatch repair (MMR) status are limited, while variations in treatment strategies may influence patient outcomes. Therefore, the aim of the study was to assess practice variation in adjuvant chemotherapy administration in colon cancer patients. ⋯ Significant practice variation in the adjuvant treatment of colon cancer on hospital level was demonstrated, predominantly in high-risk stage II patients. The implementation of MMR testing was suboptimal. We recommend continuous monitoring of treatment patterns using population-based data, which should facilitate hospital auditing and improve guideline implementation and quality of care for colon cancer patients.
