Endoscopic robot-assisted C7 nerve root retrophalangeal transfer from the contralateral healthy side: A cadaver feasibility study.
Controlateral C7 nerve root transfer in brachial plexus palsy requires a nerve graft and large incisions. This study investigated the feasibility of transferring the right C7 to the left C7 nerve root, without a graft, via a minimally invasive retropharyngeal approach. After installation of 6 trocars of 1cm diameter in the supraclavicular space, a Da Vinci SI® robot was placed. ⋯ The duration of the procedure was 2h40min. No technical difficulties were encountered. The hypothesis of this work was verified since it was possible to carry out a transfer of the right C7 root on the left C7 root by direct retropharyngeal suture without graft and by a minimally invasive technique.

Autologous fat transfer, or lipofilling, is a common technique used for soft tissue reconstruction. It has been used for many years, but the technique is associated with a significant graft resorption rate (20% to 80%). ⋯ In this concise review, we present the clinical indications, and the technical principles of CAL, as well as a presentation of ASC. To conclude, we present the main results (efficacy, complications and safety) obtained from different studies of this technique.

Multicenter Study[Anterolateral thigh flap for distal lower leg reconstruction].
Soft tissue defects of lower leg are still a challenge for the plastic surgeon. It should provide an effective and functional coverage with a minimal morbidity on the donor site. Free anterolateral thigh flap present in these areas many advantages over the pedicled local flaps and free muscle flaps used conventionally. We try to define its place through our experience with a bicentric retrospective study. ⋯ Showing functional results at least similar to other flaps, ALT flap demonstrated its reliability and its low morbidity on the donor site. Its versatility allows adaptation to the vast majority of defects of the lower leg.

[Hyaluronic acid rheology: Basics and clinical applications in facial rejuvenation].
Hyaluronic acid (HA) is the most widely used dermal filler to treat facial volume deficits and winkles specially for facial rejuvenation. Depending on various areas of the face, filler is exposed to two different forces (shear deformation and compression/stretching forces) resulting from intrinsec and external mechanical stress. ⋯ Viscosity, elasticity and cohesivity are the main three properties to be taken into consideration in this selection. Aesthetic physicians and surgeons have to familiarize with those basics in order to select the HA with the right rheological properties to achieve a natural-looking and long-lasting outcome.

Comparative Study Observational StudyMinimally invasive repair of pectus excavatum in children: Results of a modified Nuss procedure.
Pectus excavatum (PE) is the most common deformity of the anterior thoracic wall. The Nuss technique allows the thorax to be reshaped with the aid of a retrosternal metallic bar. The aim of this study is to evaluate and compare the complication rate between the original Nuss technique and a lightly modified approach. ⋯ The modified Nuss technique does not cause more complications than the original technique described by Nuss and it has the advantage to minimize the risk of heart damage.
