To pilot-test feasibility, acceptance and learning-outcomes of a brief interdisciplinary communication skills training program in undergraduate medical education. ⋯ The training is feasible within given time-frames and limited staff resources. The high teaching load for small-group-training are split between five specialties. The concept might be an interesting option for other faculties.

To examine the impact of numeric risk information about false negative (FN) and false positive (FP) rates in faecal occult blood testing (FOBt) on attitudes towards screening. ⋯ Numeric FN information could be added to patient information without affecting interest in screening, although this needs to be replicated in a larger, more representative sample.

The effects of process-focused versus experience-focused narratives in a breast cancer treatment decision task.
To examine the effect of patient narratives that discuss decision processes versus patient experiences on decisions about treatments for early stage breast cancer. ⋯ There is no evidence that process and experience narratives 'bias' decisions in the same manner as outcome narratives. Further, their potential to focus patient attention on key information and increase patient confidence in decision making appears significant.

Measuring the process of shared decision making is a challenge, which constitutes a barrier to research and implementation. The aim of the study was to report the development of CollaboRATE, brief patient-reported measure of shared decision making. ⋯ The potential strength of the CollaboRATE will be the ability for completion in less than 30s, and across a range of routine settings.
