Recently, a new algorithm was introduced to combine segments of under-sampled diffusion weighted data using multiplexed sensitivity encoding. While the algorithm provides good results in cooperative volunteers, motion during the data acquisition is not accounted for. In this work, the continuous prospective motion correction of a segmented diffusion weighted acquisition is combined with multiplexed sensitivity encoding. ⋯ The combination of prospective motion correction and multiplexed sensitivity encoding allows for high resolution diffusion weighted imaging even in the presence of substantial head motion.

Feasibility and reproducibility of measurement of whole muscle blood flow, oxygen extraction, and VO2 with dynamic exercise using MRI.
Develop an MRI method to estimate skeletal muscle oxygen consumption (VO2 ) with dynamic exercise using simultaneous measurement of venous blood flow (VBF) and venous oxygen saturation (SvO2 ). ⋯ Rapid imaging of VBF and SvO2 for the estimation of whole muscle VO2 is compatible with dynamic exercise for the estimation of peak values and recovery dynamics following exercise with good reproducibility.

MR spectroscopy (MRS) can improve diagnosis and follow treatment in cancer. However, no study has yet reported application of in vivo (1)H-MRS in malignant pancreatic lesions. This study quantitatively determined whether in vivo (1)H-MRS on multiple endocrine neoplasia type 1 (Men1) conditional knockout (KO) mice and their wild type (WT) littermates could detect differences in total choline (tCho) levels between tumor and control pancreas. ⋯ These results indicate the potential use of tCho levels estimated via in vivo (1)H-MRS in differentiating malignant pancreatic tumors from benign tumors.

To evaluate four mathematical models for diffusion weighted imaging (DWI) of prostate cancer (PCa) in terms of PCa detection and characterization. ⋯ In region-of-interest based analysis, the monoexponential model for DWI of PCa using b values up to 2000 s/mm(2) was sufficient for PCa detection and characterization.
