Uterine-sparing surgical management of postpartum hemorrhage: is it always effective?
To further study the efficacy of uterine-sparing procedures based on triple uterine artery ligation (TUAL) possibly complemented with hemostatic multiple square suturing (HMSS) for the management of post-partum hemorrhage (PPH). ⋯ Obstetricians should be aware that a higher risk of failure of the procedure is to be expected in cases of PPH due to placenta accreta. In such situation, to avoid any useless delay in management, our findings suggest that peripartum hysterectomy should be immediately considered.

Case ReportsSubmental lymph node metastasis from invasive ductal breast carcinoma.
This case report presents a 52-year-old woman with a submental swelling which arose 3 years after wide local excision and axillary lymphadenectomy for breast carcinoma. Histopathological examination after excision biopsy of this lesion confirmed the presence of invasive breast carcinoma in a submental lymph node. ⋯ This is the first description of a breast carcinoma metastasising to the submental region. Metastatic breast carcinoma should be considered in the differential diagnosis of head and neck lymphadenopathy in patients with previously diagnosed breast carcinoma.

ReviewPregnancy after bariatric surgery: a current view of maternal, obstetrical and perinatal challenges.
With the increase in the number of bariatric surgeries being performed in women of childbearing age, physicians must have concerns regarding the safety of pregnancy after bariatric surgery. The aim of this review is to summarize the literature reporting on maternal, obstetrical and perinatal implications of pregnancy following BS. ⋯ Pregnancy outcome of women who delivered after BS, as compared to obese populations, is better and safer and comparable to the general population. Close supervision before, during and after pregnancy following bariatric surgery and nutrient supplementation adapted to the patient's individual requirements can prevent nutrition-related complications and improve maternal and fetal health.
