The aim of this study was is to predict malnutrition status in under-five children in Bangladesh by using various machine learning (ML) algorithms. ⋯ On the basis of the findings, we can presume that the RF algorithm was moderately superior to any other ML algorithms used in this study to predict malnutrition status among under-five children in Bangladesh. Finally, the present research recommends applying RF classification with RF feature selection when the prediction of malnutrition is the core interest.

The aim of this study was to explore the effects of β-hydroxy-β-methylbutyrate (HMB) on intestinal function of lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-challenged piglets. ⋯ Dietary HMB supplementation could improve intestinal integrity, function, microbiota communities, and short-chain fatty acid concentrations in LPS-challenged piglets, suggesting its potential usage as a feed additive in weaned piglets to alleviate intestinal dysfunction triggered by immune stress.

The aim of this study was to verify the effect of a beverage containing ora-pro-nobis (OPN) flour on intestinal microbiota, gastrointestinal symptoms, and anthropometric parameters in women. ⋯ The OPN flour beverage has an effect on weight reduction, body fat composition, and improvement in gastrointestinal symptoms. These results highlight the beneficial effects of ora-pro-nobis flour beverage against the development of obesity.

Observational Study
Identification of sarcopenia and dynapenia in CKD predialysis patients with EGWSOP2 criteria: An observational, cross-sectional study.
Using the new European Working Group on Sarcopenia in Older People (EWGSOP2) criteria, we identified sarcopenic and dynapenic patients in a cohort of predialysis patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD), and evaluated their clinical and laboratory characteristics. ⋯ The EWGSOP2 criteria identified sarcopenia in CKD with a prevalence similar to previous diagnostic criteria. In addition, they found that dynapenia was highly prevalent. Nevertheless, the EWGSOP2 criteria could be better adapted to CKD patients to improve their ability to detect high-risk sarcopenic and dynapenic patients.
