This study aimed to investigate the associations between portion sizes (PSs) from different food groups and energy, as well as nutrient intakes in European adolescents. ⋯ Large food PSs may be associated with positive energy, as well as macro- and micronutrient intake. Moreover, the findings from this study may help the future development of dietary guidance in general and specific to PSs, and support targeted strategies to address intakes of certain nutrients in European adolescents.

Anemia is one of the most important nutritional deficiency diseases among schoolchildren worldwide. More attention needs to be focused on anemia prevalence in ethnic minorities in the multiethnic country of China. This study was conducted in Mengzi City, Yunnan Province, which has the largest variety of ethnic minorities in China, to investigate the anemia prevalence among ethnic minority schoolchildren ages 6 to 15 y. ⋯ Although the prevalence of anemia among schoolchildren in Mengzi is a mild public health problem, the rate among ethnic minorities is consistently higher than among Han Chinese and keeps rising. Measures to prevent and control anemia need to be prioritized in ethnic minorities, particularly those of Hani Nationality, females, and underweight schoolchildren.

The aim of this study was to explore the association between dietary fatty foods and the risk for bladder cancer. ⋯ Intake of nuts and marine fish may be beneficial for the prevention of bladder cancer. The protective effect of milk and dairy products was only found in men with bladder cancer. High soybean oil intake was a risk factor for bladder cancer.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the physico-chemical stability of compounded total parenteral nutrition admixtures through peroxidation assay and ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy, high-performance liquid chromatography analysis, nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometry, pH meter, and dynamic light scattering. ⋯ The results obtained will help improve PN management at the compounding center and in hospital wards, because they allow for the extension of the validity time frame provided so far by the different formulations and, therefore, therapy scheduling over several days.

This study was designed to examine eating behaviors and their association with fear and depression states concerning COVID-19 among students in Turkey. ⋯ During the pandemic, negative psychological effects resulted in unfavorable dietary behavioral consequences, depending on the increasing levels of stress.
