Whether molecular-targeted therapy, particularly axitinib, is effective after failure of immune checkpoint inhibitors in metastatic renal cell carcinoma (mRCC) remains unclear. Here, we evaluated the therapeutic effect of axitinib as a third-line therapy following second-line nivolumab monotherapy for mRCC. ⋯ Axitinib as a third-line therapy showed reasonable therapeutic efficacy after the failure of first-line TKI and second-line nivolumab monotherapy for mRCC. Further studies are needed to confirm our findings.

Severe Thrombocytopenia Associated With Pembrolizumab in Patients With Non-small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC): A Case Report and Literature Review.
Thrombocytopenia, one of many immune-related adverse events (irAEs), is a rare entity about which little is known on its treatment, outcomes, and patient demographics. Herein we present a case of severe thrombocytopenia after administration of pembrolizumab as an anti-programmed death-1 (PD-1) antibody. ⋯ Several reports have described the management and occurrence of severe thrombocytopenia after immune checkpoint inhibitor administration in patients with different neoplasms. Physicians should be alert to the potential of rare irAEs, such as severe thrombocytopenia.

Recently, indocyanine green (ICG) fluorescence imaging has been used for the identification of the parathyroid glands (PG) during thyroid and parathyroid surgery. However, an overall consensus on the optimal technique, the dosage, the timing of the ICG administration and finally its interpretation and clinical usefulness is still lacking evidence. The aim of this review is to investigate the use of ICG angiography during thyroidectomy and/or parathyroidectomy for identification as well as for the perfusion integrity of the parathyroid glands. ⋯ ICG fluorescence imaging is a simple, fast and reproducible method capable of intraoperatively visualizing and assessing the function of parathyroid glands, and can, therefore, assist surgeons in their decision-making. Despite all this, ICG fluorescence imaging technique for PG detection still lacks standardization and further studies are needed to establish its clinical utility.

The C-reactive protein (CRP)-to-serum albumin ratio is associated with a poor prognosis in patients with several cancers. The purpose of this study was to clarify the relationship between the preoperative CRP/Alb ratio and overall survival of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) in patients who received radical surgery and S-1 adjuvant chemotherapy. ⋯ The preoperative CRP/Alb ratio is a strong prognostic factor for PDAC patients with undergo curative resection with S-1 adjuvant chemotherapy.

This study evaluated clinicopathological and molecular features and their prognostic impact on patients with locally advanced rectal cancer (LARC) who received preoperative chemoradiotherapy (CRT). ⋯ The ypT category and the presence of LVI were found to be prognostic factors for patients with LARC after CRT followed by TME.
