Case ReportsPneumomediastinum and pneumothorax as presenting signs in severe Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia.
We present a 3-year-old child with severe extensive Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia complicated with pneumomediastinum and pneumothorax. Pneumothorax and pneumomediastinum have only exceptionally been described in mild cases of the disease. The radiological findings, differential diagnosis and clinical course are discussed.

Case ReportsBilateral hippocampal hyperintensities: a new finding in MR imaging of heat stroke.
We present a child aged 2 years 3 months who suffered heat stroke after being accidentally locked in a car during summer. She was unconscious with hyperthermia on admission and later showed biochemical evidence of liver, cardiac and muscle injury and associated electrolyte imbalance. ⋯ Previous case reports of imaging in heat stroke revealed involvement of the cerebellum, thalami, basal ganglia and scattered cerebral involvement. We report this unique finding of hippocampal hyperintensities due to heat stroke.

Case ReportsThe neuroradiological findings in a case of Revesz syndrome.
Revesz syndrome is a variant of dyskeratosis congenita characterized by aplastic anemia, retinopathy, and central nervous system abnormalities. We describe a 3-year-old boy in whom the spectrum of neuroimaging findings, including intracranial calcifications, cerebellar hypoplasia and unusual brain lesions were found by biopsy to be gliosis despite their enhancement and progression. In patients with dyskeratosis-related syndromes, non-neoplastic parenchymal brain lesions occur and gliosis should be considered in the differential diagnosis for progressive enhancing brain lesions. Should this finding be confirmed consistently in additional cases, brain biopsy could potentially be avoided.

Lipoid pneumonia in children following aspiration of mineral oil used in the treatment of constipation: high-resolution CT findings in 17 patients.
Exogenous lipoid pneumonia is a rare disorder caused by aspiration of mineral, vegetable and animal oils. High-resolution CT findings of lipoid pneumonia in children taking mineral oil for constipation have been rarely reported. ⋯ The high-resolution CT features in children with exogenous lipoid pneumonia are air-space consolidations and ground-glass attenuation, occasionally with a crazy-paving pattern, distributed bilaterally in the posterior and lower zones of the lungs.

Clinical TrialReal-time functional MR imaging (fMRI) for presurgical evaluation of paediatric epilepsy.
The role of fMRI in the presurgical evaluation of children with intractable epilepsy is being increasingly recognized. Real-time fMRI allows the clinician to visualize functional brain activation in real time. Since there is no off-line data analysis as in conventional fMRI, the overall time for the procedure is reduced, making it clinically feasible in a busy clinical sitting. ⋯ Real-time fMRI is an easily performed and reliable technique in the presurgical workup of children with epilepsy.
