ReviewHow to read and understand and use systematic reviews and meta-analyses.
Systematic reviews and meta-analyses are increasingly frequently used in the evaluation of medical treatments. This review explains the principles of the methodology, significance and limitations of systematic reviews. ⋯ Due to the enormous amount of scientific information published every year, systematic reviews and meta-analyses have become indispensable methods for the evaluation of medical treatments.

ReviewEarly intervention in patients at ultra high risk of psychosis: benefits and risks.
Prediction of transition to psychosis in the prodromal phase of schizophrenia has raised interest in intervention prior to the onset of frank psychosis. The aim of this review was to examine whether interventions in the prodromal phase have a favourable benefit/risk ratio. ⋯ At the present time, the data concerning the benefits and risks do not justify prodromal intervention as standard clinical practice.

Violence among schizophrenia out-patients compliant with medication: prevalence and associated factors.
Aggressive behaviour has been related to schizophrenia both in in-patient and out-patient samples. In this study, we aimed to assess the prevalence and factors associated with aggressive behaviour in out-patient compliant with their prescribed medication. ⋯ Five per cent of the studied cases showed aggressive behaviour in the week prior to assessment, despite having been compliant with their medication. Most aggressive behaviour was verbal rather than physical.

Case ReportsLycanthropy alive in Babylon: the existence of archetype.
Lycanthropy is the belief in the capacity of human metamorphosis into animal form. It has been recorded in many cultures. Apart from historic description of lycanthropy, there has been several case reports described in the medical literature over the past 30 years. ⋯ Lycanthropy delusion is a rare delusion but appears to have survived into modern times with possible archetypal existence.
