The effect of varying spectral resolution on the quality of high spectral and spatial resolution magnetic resonance images of the breast.
To evaluate the effect of varying spectral resolution on image quality of high spectral and spatial resolution (HiSS) images. ⋯ Despite a trade-off between the spectral resolution and signal-to-noise ratio, it is beneficial to acquire data at the highest spectral resolution currently attainable at 1.5 Tesla.

To test the feasibility of pediatric perfusion imaging using a pulsed arterial spin labeling (ASL) technique at 1.5 T. ⋯ ASL is a promising tool for pediatric perfusion imaging given the unique and reciprocal benefits in terms of safety and image quality.

Correlation of dynamic contrast enhancement MRI parameters with microvessel density and VEGF for assessment of angiogenesis in breast cancer.
To investigate the association between parameters obtained from dynamic contrast enhanced MRI (DCE-MRI) of breast cancer using different analysis approaches, as well as their correlation with angiogenesis biomarkers (vascular endothelial growth factor and vessel density). ⋯ A consistent analysis strategy was important in the DCE-MRI study. In this series, none of these strategies yielded results for MRI based quantitation of tumor vascularity that were associated with IHC based measurements. Therefore, different analyses could not account for the lack of association.

Directional diffusion in relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis: a possible in vivo signature of Wallerian degeneration.
To examine the role of directional dependence of the apparent diffusion coefficients in the evaluation of normal-appearing brain regions of patients with relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis. ⋯ Examination of diffusion tensor eigenvectors may provide insight into the changes observed in diffusion and a signature of Wallerian degeneration in the normal-appearing white matter of relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis patients.

Radio-frequency-induced thermal lesions: subacute magnetic resonance appearance and histological correlation.
To investigate the relationship between subacute magnetic resonance (MR) images of radio-frequency (RF) ablation lesions and tissue viability as determined from histological tissue samples. ⋯ Lesion boundaries apparent in both T(2)- and CE T(1)-weighted MR scans, performed several days postablation, similarly predict the histological response. That is, the lesion core (M1) corresponds to nonviable coagulated cells (H1), while the hyperintense margin (M2) corresponds to likely nonviable cells undergoing necrotic changes (H2).
