Comparative StudyT2 * relaxation time in Achilles tendinosis and controls and its correlation with clinical score.
To investigate if the T2 * of Achilles tendons can discriminate between chronic Achilles tendinosis and healthy controls; to correlate with clinical score; to evaluate its short-term repeatability; and to estimate minimal detectable change. ⋯ T2 * may help to differentiate between chronic Achilles tendinosis and healthy controls but was not associated with the clinical score. However, and notably, the reproducibility of the method was low and the number of patients was small. J. Magn. Reson. Imaging 2016;43:1417-1422.

Can intravoxel incoherent motion diffusion-weighted imaging characterize the cellular injury and microcirculation alteration in hepatic ischemia-reperfusion injury? An animal study.
To investigate whether intravoxel incoherent motion diffusion-weighted imaging (IVIM-DWI) can be used to quantitatively analyze the cellular injury and microcirculation alterations in hepatic ischemia-reperfusion injury (HIRI). ⋯ IVIM-DWI can quantitatively characterize an animal model of HIRI, with D and ADC sensitive in early detection of cellular injury, as well as fair to good correlation between f, ADC, and microcirculation alteration. Review Meta AnalysisSystematic review and meta-analysis of the accuracy of MRI to diagnose appendicitis in the general population.
To perform a systematic review and meta-analysis of all published studies since 2005 that evaluate the accuracy of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for the diagnosis of acute appendicitis in the general population presenting to emergency departments. ⋯ MRI has a high sensitivity and specificity for the diagnosis of appendicitis, similar to that reported previously for computed tomography. J. Magn. Reson. Imaging 2016;43:1346-1354.

Development and evaluation of a multichannel endorectal RF coil for prostate MRI at 7T in combination with an external surface array.
To develop and evaluate a sterilizable multichannel endorectal coil (ERC) for use in combination with an external surface array (ESA) for high-resolution anatomical and functional studies of the prostate at 7T. ⋯ The reusable ERC-2L combined with an ESA offers a high SNR imaging platform for translational studies of the prostate at 7T. Gray and white matter alterations in early HIV-infected patients: Combined voxel-based morphometry and tract-based spatial statistics.
To investigate both the gray matter (GM) and whiter matter (WM) alterations in a homogeneous cohort of early HIV-infected patients by combining voxel-based morphometry (VBM) and tract-based spatial statistics (TBSS). ⋯ Our results indicate that structural brain alterations occurred early in HIV-infected patients. The current study may shed further light on the potential brain effects of HIV. J. Magn. Reson. Imaging 2016;43:1474-1483.
