To examine the epidemiology and toxicity of guanfacine exposures in children and adolescents reported to poison control centers. ⋯ These data demonstrated a trend of increasing numbers of guanfacine exposures annually. Although the majority of children experienced minimal or no toxicity, serious toxicity can occur.

Octreotide for sulfonylurea-induced hypoglycemia following overdose.
To describe the use of octreotide in the management of 2 cases of sulfonylurea-induced hypoglycemia following overdose and to review the literature on the use of octreotide in the management of sulfonylurea overdose. ⋯ The use of octreotide appears to reduce the number of hypoglycemic episodes and glucose requirements, with no reported toxicities associated with its use for sulfonylurea-induced hypoglycemia following overdose.

To determine whether bupropion overdose has been associated with cardiovascular toxicity. ⋯ We recommend that all patients with an overdose of bupropion should have an electrocardiogram performed on admission and should be monitored for the development of conduction delays and/or life-threatening arrhythmias.
