ReviewInstruments assessing attitudes toward or capability regarding self-management of osteoarthritis: a systematic review of measurement properties.
To make a recommendation on the "best" instrument to assess attitudes toward and/or capabilities regarding self-management of osteoarthritis (OA) based on available measurement property evidence. ⋯ Although PEPPI-5 was identified as having the best measurement properties, overall there is a poor level of evidence currently available concerning measurement properties of instruments to assess attitudes toward and/or capabilities regarding osteoarthritis self-management. Further well-designed studies investigating measurement properties of existing instruments are required.

Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter StudyCryoneurolysis to treat the pain and symptoms of knee osteoarthritis: a multicenter, randomized, double-blind, sham-controlled trial.
Evaluate the efficacy and safety/tolerability of cryoneurolysis for reduction of pain and symptoms associated with knee osteoarthritis (OA). ⋯ Cryoneurolysis of the IPBSN resulted in statistically significant decreased knee pain and improved symptoms compared to sham treatment for up to 150 days, and appeared safe and well tolerated.

Randomized Controlled TrialAssociations between changes in knee pain location and clinical symptoms in people with medial knee osteoarthritis using footwear for self-management: an exploratory study.
To examine whether change in pain location is associated with clinically-relevant improvements in walking pain severity and physical dysfunction in people with medial tibiofemoral osteoarthritis (OA) using footwear for self-management. ⋯ Participants either developing into, or changing from, diffuse pain patterns were less likely to experience improvement in pain and/or function when self-managing with footwear.

Comparative StudyCoexisting lateral tibiofemoral osteoarthritis is associated with worse knee pain in patients with mild medial osteoarthritis.
To examine the clinical impact of coexisting lateral osteoarthritis (OA) in knees with mild medial OA. ⋯ Knees with concomitant lateral and mild medial OA may be more symptomatic compared to those without lateral OA. These findings might help to define a clinically distinct subgroup based on a simple radiographic finding in mild knee OA.

Self-reported knee pain and disability among healthy individuals: reference data and factors associated with the Knee injury and Osteoarthritis Outcome Score (KOOS) and KOOS-Child.
To develop normative reference data for the Knee injury and Osteoarthritis Outcome Score (KOOS) and KOOS-Child, as well as investigate socio-demographic, psychological and physical factors associated with knee pain and disability among healthy adults. ⋯ Age- and gender-stratified reference data for the KOOS and KOOS-Child have been developed to guide interpretation of results in practice and research for individuals with knee disorders. Psychological and physical factors are linked with self-reported knee pain/disability among adults, and longitudinal studies to investigate causation are required.
