MINERAL BONE DENSITY AND VITAMIN D LEVELS IN PATIENTS WITH PSORIATIC ARTHRITIS.
The objective of this study was to explore the possible differences in bone mass density (BMD) and markers of bone metabolism between patients with psoriasis with concomitant psoriatic arthritis (PsA) and patients with psoriasis only (PV). A comparable sample of both types of patients were included in analysis. In all patients, vitamin D serum levels along with inflammatory markers and parathyroid hormone (PTH) were measured. ⋯ Patients with PsA tended to have decreased BMD in axial skeleton, while BMD in appendicular skeleton was comparable between the groups. No statistically significant correlation was found of inflammatory markers, vitamin D and PTH levels with BMD in either patient group. A negative correlation was recorded between vitamin D serum concentration and PTH levels.

Case ReportsA RARE PRESENTATION OF GENITOURINARY TUBERCULOSIS MIMICKING ABDOMINAL TUMOR.
Genital tuberculosis is a rare and unexpected disease in European countries including Croatia. Diagnosis of female genital tract tuberculosis is challenging and is rarely pin-pointed by clinical symptoms because of their low specificity. The authors decided to present a case of genitourinary tuberculosis in a young, immunocompetent fertile woman with high clinical suspicion of abdominal tumor mass. Although considered a desease of the past, rare clinical presentation of genital tuberculosis should be expected and taken into account.

Case ReportsLEFT-SIDED INFERIOR VENA CAVA ASSOCIATED WITH PROXIMAL DEEP VENOUS THROMBOSIS OF THE LEFT LOWER EXTREMITY.
Left-sided inferior vena cava (IVC) is a rare congenital venous anomaly that is most frequently detected incidentally during abdominal computer tomography scanning. However, as in the case presented, the first clinical manifestation of this anomaly may be deep venous thrombosis (DVT) of lower extremities. Therefore, left-sided IVC should be kept in mind in case of inferior DVT, especially in young patients with no predisposing thrombotic risk factors.

IMPACT OF CHEMOTHERAPY-INDUCED PERIPHERAL NEUROPATHY ON THE QUALITY OF LIFE IN CANCER PATIENTS.
The aim of the study was to investigate the correlation between chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN) and quality of life, as well as to establish whether there was a difference in peripheral neuropathy symptoms and their effect on the quality of life depending on the type of agents applied. The study encompassed 156 patients treated at the Department of Oncology from March to May 2017. ⋯ Oxaliplatin had a significantly greater effect on the onset of motor and sensory neuropathy than taxane and cisplatin/carboplatin. Nursing interventions based on specific characteristics of certain chemotherapeutic agents should be developed for CIPN alleviation.

LONG-TERM SURVIVAL EFFECTS OF PREOPERATIVE BREAST MRI IN PATIENTS WITH BREAST-CONSERVING SURGERY.
The benefit of breast magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in breast-conserving surgery (BCS) is unclear. Our study compared breast cancer patients with and without preoperative breast MRI and their long-term oncologic outcomes are reported. A total of 1378 BCS cases with early breast cancer between 1996 and 2017 were reviewed. ⋯ When analyses were repeated only for patients with hormone receptor-negative or triple-negative breast cancer, there was still no significant difference in OS, LRFS, or disease-free survival. In conclusion, MRI does not seem necessary in all patients undergoing BCS. New prospective randomized controlled trials are needed to determine appropriate use of preoperative MRI and its effects on oncologic outcomes in early breast cancer patients.
