Nerve Root Sedimentation Sign among Lumbar Canal Stenosis Patients Visiting the Department of Orthopaedics in a Tertiary Care Centre: A Descriptive Cross-sectional Study.
Lumbar canal stenosis is a common cause of back pain and neurogenic claudication in the elderly population. Nerve root sedimentation sign-on Magnetic resonance imaging is a novel sign proposed for the diagnosis of lumbar canal stenosis. There is limited research so far. So, the aim of this study was to find out the prevalence of nerve root sedimentation signs in lumbar canal stenosis among patients visiting the Department of Orthopaedics in a tertiary care centre. ⋯ magnetic resonance imaging; prevalence; spinal stenosis.

The rectal foreign body is a rare presentation, often related to sexual gratification, sexual assault, or the result of ingestion and rarely accidental, and with rising incidence. We present a case of a 47-year-old heterosexual male with an alleged history of accidental insertion of a foreign body through the anus three days prior without peritonitis or obstipation. After investigations, the patient underwent a failed sigmoidoscopic removal followed by exploratory laparotomy, foreign body removal, and an uneventful post-operative period. It should be noted that early diagnosis and timely intervention are important to prevent complications in rectal foreign bodies. Assessment of the shape, size, nature, and location of the object through appropriate imaging is necessary. Exploratory laparotomy is inevitable in cases of failed manual extraction techniques and complicated cases. ⋯ case reports; foreign bodies; laparotomy; rectum; sigmoidoscopy.

Case ReportsPeripheral Ameloblastoma of Acanthomatous Variant: A Case Report.
Ameloblastoma is an uncommon benign epithelial neoplasm of odontogenic origin that accounts for about 18% of the odontogenic tumour. It is a slow-growing, locally invasive but rarely metastatic tumour. Extraosseously occurring peripheral ameloblastoma is a rare variant that comprises about 2-10% of all ameloblastoma. We report a case of peripheral ameloblastoma in a 43-years old male patient affecting the mandibular canine-premolar region with a histopathological diagnosis of acanthomatous ameloblastoma. This case report emphasises the clinical, radiographic, and histological features of a rare variant that distinguishes it from the other similar appearing lesion on gingiva along with its various treatment modalities. ⋯ ameloblastoma; case reports; histopathology; odontogenic tumour.

Neonates Born Through Meconium-stained Amniotic Fluid among Deliveries in a Tertiary Care Centre: A Descriptive Cross-sectional Study.
The mortality and morbidity of meconium aspiration syndrome in neonates born with meconium-stained amniotic fluid in developing countries are still high. In Nepal, few studies have estimated the prevalence of meconium-stained amniotic fluid among newborns. The study aimed to find out the prevalence of neonates born through meconium-stained amniotic fluid among deliveries in a tertiary care centre. ⋯ meconium; neonate; Nepal.

Stromal Keratitis among Herpes Simplex Keratitis Patients in a Tertiary Eye Hospital: A Descriptive Cross-sectional Study.
The manifestations of herpes simplex virus keratitis range from epithelial keratitis to vision-threatening stromal keratitis. There are limited studies done on our part regarding stromal keratitis. The aim of the study was to find out the prevalence of stromal keratitis among herpes simples keratitis patients in a tertiary eye hospital. ⋯ herpes simplex keratitis; keratitis; prevalence.
