Randomized Controlled Trial[Randomised study of the relationship between the use of CPRmeter® device and the quality of chest compressions in a simulated cardiopulmonary resuscitation].
To determine whether the use of CPRmeter(®) during the resuscitation manoeuvres, is related to a higher quality of external cardiac massage, as recommended by the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR). To compare the quality obtained without the use or this, and whether there are differences related to anthropometric, demographic, professional and/or occupational factors. ⋯ The use of CPRmeter(®) device in simulated resuscitations is related to a higher quality of cardiac massage, improving the approach to the ILCOR recommendations, regardless of the characteristics of the participants. They were 83.8% more likely to achieve a quality massage using the device than without it.

Randomized Controlled Trial[Effect of music on anxiety and pain in patients with mechanical ventilation].
The power of music to relieve anxiety or pain has been widely used throughout history. ⋯ Music reduces anxiety in patients with invasive mechanical ventilation. Invasive mechanical ventilation can be established as a non-pharmacologic tool added to the available therapeutic options.

Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative Study[Prevention of mechanical ventilator-associated pneumonia: a comparison of two different oral hygiene methods].
Oral hygiene (OH) forms a part of the patient's safety in the prevention of mechanical ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP). The dental plaque index (DP) is considered as a quality marker for OH. ⋯ There is a tendency towards a decrease in the DP which is clearing in the GR group and no relation between VAP and greater DP or halitosis.

Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative Study[Comparative study of maintenance of patency of triple lumen central venous catheter].
Establish an action protocol for the maintenance of patency of the three lumen central venous catheters (CVC) when any of them are not used. The main variable of interest was evaluate it 24 hours. ⋯ SS is as effective as 100 or 500 IU of heparin for maintenance of patency of CVC.

Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative Study[Intracranial pressure response during secretion aspiration after administration of a muscle relaxant].
Aspiration of secretions is a usual nursing technique in patients undergoing mechanical ventilation that may be the cause of increased Intracranial Pressure (ICP). ⋯ According to the data obtained in the study, a lower increase of ICP was observed during secretion aspiration in those cases in which muscle relaxant was administered prior to the aspiration.
