Case ReportsSurgical Treatment of Ankylosing Spondylitis with Andersson Lesion.
Ankylosing spondylitis (AS) with an Andersson lesion may cause kyphosis. As the disease progresses, kyphosis gradually worsens. ⋯ Here, we introduce our surgical procedure of pseudoarticular debridgement and osteotomy of the apical vertebrae of the Cobb angle. We found that both the kyphosis and associated symptoms improved significantly after 13 months of follow-up.

Solitary papillomas of the lower airways are uncommon clinical entities that present a diagnostic challenge because they are not usually considered among the differential diagnoses. Reliable clinical data about their presentation and treatment remain scarce. We describe a case of an elderly male who presented to us with cough and hemoptysis. ⋯ Patient declined surgical removal of this papilloma. He was fine on followup visits during the subsequent months. In patients with hemoptysis, solitary endobronchial papilloma should also be considered in the differential diagnosis.

Case ReportsLaparoscopic Resection of Isolated Retroperitoneal Gastric Duplication Cyst in an Infant.
We, herein report a rare case of retroperitoneal gastric duplication cyst in a 5-month female infant presenting with antenatal diagnosis of right renal cyst. Post-natal evaluation showed presence of retroperitoneal cyst in the region of right adrenal gland, which progressively increased in size on serial imaging. ⋯ Intra-operative findings and histopathology confirmed diagnosis of isolated retroperitoneal gastric duplication cyst. Authors present the clinical features of this rare entity along with feasibility of successful laparoscopic excision in infantile age group.

Assessment of Factors Influencing Lymph Node Count in Colorectal Cancer.
To evaluate the factors that influence pericolorectal lymph node (LN) retrieval from colectomy specimens in colorectal in cancer staging. ⋯ Tumor site and size, length of the surgical specimen, T-classification, depth of invasion and AJCC/UICC stage are predictors for the lymph node numbers in colorectal cancer surgery. Retrieval of removed nodes and counting helps in staging and number of removed nodes, and affects survival.

Effect of Docetaxel Combined with Cisplatin Preoperative Neoadjuvant Chemotherapy for Stage III NSCLC.
The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of docetaxel plus cisplatin preoperative neoadjuvant chemotherapy in stage III non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). It was an analytical study carried out from May 2013 to May 2017. Eightytwo patients with stage III NSCLC were divided into Group A and B according to a random number table (n=41). ⋯ Group B underwent surgical treatment after preoperative examination. Compared with group B,operation time of group A was shorter (p<0.001); intraoperative blood loss of group A was lower (p<0.001); surgical resection rate and 1-year survival rate in group A were higher (p=0.013, 0.023). This suggested that preoperative neoadjuvant chemotherapy with docetaxel plus cisplatin may improve surgical resection rate, shorten operation time, reduce intraoperative blood loss, and prolong survival of patients.
