Comparative StudyOutcomes of Total Parathyroidectomy with Autotransplantation versus Subtotal Parathyroidectomy Techniques for Secondary Hyperparathyroidism in Chronic Renal Failure.
To compare the safety and the effectiveness of total parathyroidectomy with autotransplantation versus subtotal parathyroidectomy for refractory secondary hyperparathyroidism in patients with chronic kidney disease. ⋯ Both surgical options can be safely utilised in the management of refarctory secondary hyperparathyroidism. Moreover, regardless of the procedure used, all the parathyroid glands must be explored. However, due to high morbidity and failure rates of subsequent surgeries, the surgeon should be keen and thorough in the initial procedure.

Comparative StudyOutcome of Humeral Shaft Fracture Treated with Intramedullary Nail and Plate Fixation.
To compare the results of the intramedullary nail (IMN) and compression plate fixation performed for humeral shaft fracture as to determine a better option out of the two. ⋯ IMN fixation led to a significant decrease in intraoperative blood loss, shorter operating time, hospital stay, union time, and a lower rate of overall complications. Thus, IMN may be a better choice of internal fixation as it also accelerates the patients' recovery, and increases their satisfaction.

Case ReportsScrotal Lymphedema and its Conservative Treatment: A Rare Complication of Circumcision.
Lymphedema is defined as an abnormal accumulation of extracellular fluid in the subcutaneous compartment caused by impaired lymphatic drainage. Scrotal lymphedema is a rare condition characterised by swelling of the scrotal skin due to deterioration in lymphatic drainage. Over time, fibrosis may develop in the scrotum and genital malformations that impair the patient's quality of life. Here, we present the first case in our experience of scrotal lymphedema, which occurred in a 3-year child following circumcision, and subsequently was treated successfully with complex decongestive physiotherapy.

Comparative StudySignificance of Serum NT-proBNP and Endogenous H₂S for Predicting Coronary Artery Lesions in Pediatric Kawasaki Disease.
To determine the expression levels and clinical significance of serum N-terminal pro-brain natriuretic peptide (NT-proBNP), hydrogen sulfide (H₂S) and interleukin-6 (IL-6) in children with Kawasaki disease (KD). ⋯ NT-proBNP and IL-6 levels rise and the H2S level decreases in the blood of KD children, indicating that these indicators may participate in the pathogenesis of KD and that their levels are related to CAL occurrence and the vascular inflammatory response.
