Comparison of Immature Platelet Fraction (IPF) in Patients with Central Thrombocytopenia and Peripheral Thrombocytopenia.
ABSTRACT Objective: To determine immature platelet fraction (IPF) in patients with thrombocytopenia and correlation with their bone marrow findings and to determine its predictive value in differentiating peripheral (hyper destructive) thrombocytopenia from central (hypo-productive) thrombocytopenia.

Night Eating Syndrome According to Obesity Groups and the Related Factors.
To find the frequency of night eating syndrome (NES) in different obesity groups and to determine related factors. ⋯ NES was detected in 92 (21.85%) of all participants; whereas, 28 participants (18.67%) of class I obesity group, 32 participants (22.70%) of class II obesity group and 32 participants (24.62%) of class III obesity group had NES (p=0.465). There was no significant difference between individuals with and without NES in terms of age, gender, marital status, income level, occupational status, presence of children, living-together subjects, cigarette consumption, BMI, waist-hip ratio, and waist-height ratio. However, within the class I obesity group, the likelihood of weight loss was significantly lower among participants with NES (p=0.026). There was no relationship between NES and the duration of obesity, dieting, and the number of main meals per day. However, the relationship between NES and the number of snacks per day was significant in class I and III obesity groups (p=0.040 and p=0.034, respectively). Conclusion: The frequency of NES was found to be high in all obesity groups with no significant difference across groups. Therefore, all obese patients should be evaluated in terms of NES, and nutritional recommendations should be provided in the treatment of obesity. Key Words: Morbid obesity, Night eating syndrome, Obesity.

Renal Stromal Expression of Oestrogen and Progesterone Receptors in Chronic Pyelonephritis as Compared to Normal Kidneys.
To determine and compare the distribution of oestrogen and progesterone receptors (ER and PR) expression between normal kidneys and chronic pyelonephritis. ⋯ There was a trend of diffuse renal stromal expression of ER and PR in chronic pyelonephritis as compared to healthy specimens. However, the difference did not reach statistical significance. Key Words: Oestrogen receptor, Progesterone receptor, Chronic pyelonephritis, Renal cancer, Renal stroma.

Impact of Homozygous C4A Deficiency on Clinical Presentation of Systemic Lupus Erythematosus.
To investigate the association of C4A null allele (C4AQ0) with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and determine the clinical presentation of SLE in relation to C4A null allele. ⋯ Homozygous absence of C4A alleles was encountered in 10.6% of Pakistani patients of SLE and is closely related with clinical features of arthritis and renal damage. Knowledge of C4A null allele in SLE patients at diagnosis can predict disease course. Key Words: SLE, C4A null alleles, C4AQ0, Homozygous C4A deficiency.

Relationship between 3D Power Doppler Ultrasound and Serum MMP-2 and Ang-2 Levels in Pregnant Women with Preeclampsia.
To explore the relationship between 3D power Doppler ultrasound (3D-PDU) and serum MMP-2 and Ang-2 levels in pregnant women with preeclampsia (PE). ⋯ 3D-PDU has a certain application value in the diagnosis of pregnant women with PE, variation tendency of VI, FI and VFI detected by 3D-PDU is closely associated with serum MMP-2 and Ang-2 levels. Key Words: Preeclampsia, Pregnant women, MMP-2, Ang-2, 3D power Doppler ultrasound (3D-PDU).
