Granulocyte to Lymphocyte Ratio among Different Categories of Neonatal Sepsis according to their Vitamin D Status.
The objective of this study was to ascertain whether, among the cases of neonatal sepsis, there is any significant difference between GLR (Granulocyte to Lymphocyte ratio) of different groups of patients according to their vitamin D status. One hundred and nine neonates with odd admission number, admitted in NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) with clinical manifestations of neonatal sepsis during the study period from December 2017 to December 2018, were included in the study. ⋯ There was no significant difference between GLR of different groups, according to outcome. Key Words: Granulocyte to Lymphocyte Ratio, Vitamin D, Neonatal sepsis.

A Comparative Analysis of Superoxide Dismutase 1 Level in Diabetics with and without Neuropathy.
To compare superoxide dismutase 1 (SOD1) levels in diabetes mellitus patients with and without neuropathy. ⋯ SOD1 level was considerably high in patients with diabetes mellitus with neuropathy in comparison to diabetics without neuropathy and healthy individuals. Key Words: Diabetes mellitus, Diabetic neuropathy, ELISA, Superoxide dismutase 1(SOD1).

Case ReportsAcute Hepatitis as a Rare Presentation of COVID-19.
Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) initially emerged in Wuhan, China, in December 2019, and now it has been declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization. COVID-19 commonly presents with respiratory manifestations like fever, cough, body aches, and shortness of breath. Neurological, myocardial, renal and gastrointestinal complications secondary to SARS-CoV-2 infection have been reported in the literature. ⋯ COVID-19 can rarely present with acute hepatitis. Here, we report a case of a 45-year male who presented with signs and symptoms of acute hepatitis secondary to SARS-CoV-2 infection. Key Words: SARS-CoV-2, COVID-19, Acute hepatitis.

Association of Alpha 1-antitrypsin Deficiency and Genetic Predisposition in Primary Spontaneous Pneumothorax.
To determine the association of alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency (AATD) in patients diagnosed with primary spontaneous pneumothorax (PSP), the presence of the SERPINA 1 gene, and the phenotype in patients with low enzyme values. ⋯ AAT level was found to be lower in the patient group compared to the control group. In addition, the effect of SERPINA 1 gene on PSP development was found to be benign. AATD is an effective factor in the development of PSP. Key Words: Primary spontaneous pneumothorax, Alpha 1 antitrypsin deficiency, Genotype variants, SERPINA 1 gene.

Observational StudyTargeted Next-generation Sequencing for Reliable Detection of Genetic Status in Breast Cancer.
To test the germline oncogenic mutations in BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes, associated with triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) patients under study, by targeted sequencing of their DNA with next-generation sequencing (NGS) platform. ⋯ Germline variants in BRCA were detected in the known cases of TNBC, which will not only identify the most prevalent mutations in this region; but will also make them a candidate to receive targeted therapies, which was previously not possible without genetic testing. Moreover, this study further validates the importance of early BRCA genetic screening in young patients, who have positive family history of breast carcinoma. Key Words: Breast cancer, Triple negative, Next-generation sequencing, BRCA1, BRCA2.
