Case ReportsMethotrexate-induced Leukoencephalopathy: A Rare but Life-threatening Toxicity.
Methotrexate (MTX), an anti-metabolite, is part of various chemotherapy regimens to treat acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) and certain non-Hodgkin's lymphomas (NHLs). It is the major drug used in central nervous system (CNS) prophylaxis. Besides, its common hepatic, pulmonary, and hematologic toxicities, it has been implicated in the development of toxic leukoencephalopathy. ⋯ In most cases, recovery starts within 5-7 days and by the 3rd week, majority have usually recovered. However, cases of irreversible neurologic damage and late-onset chronic toxicities have been reported. Key Words: Methotrexate, Leukoencephalopathy, Chemotherapy, Leukemias.

Case ReportsDouble Peptic Ulcer Perforation due to Cumulative Effects of Post-surgery Stress and NSAIDs: A Rare Event in Surgical Practice.
Peptic ulcer disease affects a large number of people around the world. Complications occur in 10-20% of patients and perforation develops in 2-14% of the cases. It can either be in the pyloric part of the stomach or in the first part of duodenum. ⋯ This patient presented with double peptic ulcer perforation in emergency due to post-surgery stress. Case ReportsA Large Hydatid Cyst in the Brain of a 10-year Child.
Hydatid cyst is the larval form of the parasite, echinococcus granulosus. We operated upon a case of a giant hydatid cyst in the left cerebral hemisphere of a 10-year male child. The patient presented to us with a history of headache, vomiting, vertigo and difficulty in walking. ⋯ Albendazole was given postoperatively for a period of one month. The follow-up CT scan, performed after three months, showed complete resolution of the disease. Key Words: Hydatid cyst, Echinococcus granulosus, Brain, Children.

Case ReportsWhole-body Bone Scan in the Diagnosis and Treatment of SAPHO Syndrome.
Synovitis, acne, pustulosis, hyperostosis, and osteomyelitis (SAPHO) syndrome is rare disease of unknown pathogenesis. Its diagnosis and treatment are difficult. There is no standardised treatment for SAPHO syndrome, and the results of empirical therapy are unpredictable. ⋯ The case of a 52-year Chinese male, affected by SAPHO syndrome, is presented and discussed in this report. After the patient received methotrexate, prednisone and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) for six months, his clinical symptoms and whole body bone scan signs improved.
