Case ReportsRole of Recombinant Activated Factor VIIa (rFVIIa) in Bleeding Mycotic Aneurysm of the Abdominal Aorta.
Mycotic aortic aneurysm is an infective disease of the aorta with high mortality rate despite surgical repair. Recombinant activated factor VIIa (rFVIIa) is approved for the treatment of bleeding in hemophilia and used (off-labeled) in acute bleeding related to the trauma, cardiac surgery, and intracranial bleed. ⋯ We recommend further evaluation of the role of rFVIIa in bleeding mycotic abdominal aortic aneurysm, as it can bring a novel change in the management of this devastating disease. Key Words: Mycotic aortic aneurysm, Factor VIIa (rFVIIa), Abdominal aorta, Bleeding.

Case ReportsCoexistence of Colon Perforation and Congenital Lipodystrophy.
Lipodystrophy (LD) is an acquired or congenital rare condition consisting of hyperlipidaemia, glucose intolerance/ insulin resistance, and almost complete absence and storage of adipose tissue. Colon perforations can be observed in type 4 congenital LD. Here, we aimed to present a case of sigmoid colon perforation which developed in a young woman with the diagnosis of LD. ⋯ These individuals tend to develop colon perforation as a result of histological changes in their gastrointestinal tract. This situation should always be taken into consideration in order to avoid delay in diagnosis, especially in patients who present with abdominal pain and have a history of LD. Key Words: Intestinal perforation, Congenital lipodystrophy, Peritonitis, Sigmoid colon.
