Observational StudyEffect of Exenatide Therapy on Platelet Function in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus.
The purpose of the present study was to determine the effects of exenatide treatment on platelet function in type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM) patients. ⋯ Exenatide causes a decrease in PDW value and platelet count independent of its positive effect on lipid profile, glycemic regulation, and weight loss, which contributes to explain the effect of treatment on the cardiovascular system through a different mechanism. Key Words: Exenatide, Type 2 diabetes mellitus, Platelet count, Platelet distribution width, Mean platelet volume.

Peak Growth Hormone Level Variability during Insulin Tolerance Test in Children with Short Stature.
To determine the variations in peak growth hormone levels during insulin tolerance test (ITT) in diagnosis of growth hormone deficiency (GHD) in children presenting with short stature. ⋯ The 0, 30, 60, and 90 minutes samples are adequate to confirm the diagnosis of GH deficiency. This shorter duration of ITT to 90 minutes is cost effective as it decreases the financial burden of unnecessary testing. Additionally, it reduces the risk of side effect like hypoglycemia. Key Words: Short stature, Growth hormone deficiency, Insulin tolerance test.

Observational StudyVitamin D Replacement Effect on Platelet Counts.
To determine the effect of vitamin D treatment on platelet counts according to age groups in patients with vitamin D deficiency. ⋯ Vitamin D treatment lowered platelet counts. This may be beneficial in medical conditions such as essential thrombocythemia in which platelet counts are higher than normal, and may help decrease platelet counts. Key Words: Complete blood count, Blood platelet count, Vitamin D.

Challenges Faced by Lady Surgeons during Professional Progress in Pakistan.
The purpose of this qualitative study was to investigate the professional challenges faced by lady surgeons in Pakistan. This qualitative exploratory phenomenological study was conducted from April 2019 to June 2019. Four lady surgeons participated in in-depth interviews, based on four questions: challenges during training; perceptions of gender-based professional treatment; perceptions of relationships with peers; and perception of gender on the quality of training. ⋯ Participants experienced gender-based discrimination at workplace, long exhausting duty hours with lack of quality time for their families and social gatherings. With the passage of time, these problems diminished as the surgeons gained a work-life balance with their motivation. Key Words: Barriers, Career progression Challenges, Lady surgeons, Gender.

Four Different Apparent Diffusion Coefficient Measurement Methods in Breast Masses.
To compare the effect of different quantification methods of ADC values in the evaluation of breast lesions and compare contralateral normal breast tissue ADC value by calculating ADC ratios. ⋯ Highest diagnostic accuracy rate was obtained with most restricted part ADC value. Obtained ratios by calculating contralateral breast tissue ADC value did not improve the diagnostic accuracy rate. Positive and negative predictive values and diagnostic accuracy rates of ADC values and ratios increased as the lesion size increased. Key Words: Breast mass, Diffusion weighted imaging, ADC value, ADC ratio, Normalised ADC.
