Oxidative Stress in Intoxıcation Type Inborn Errors of Metabolism using Thiol-Disulfide Ratio.
To determine the relationship of oxidative stress status with follow-up parameters, metabolic control status, and treatment compliance evaluation in patients diagnosed within toxication type inherited metabolic disease (IMDs). ⋯ Metabolic control status and compliance with treatment are related to oxidative stress level, showing thiol/disulfide balance in urea cycle defects, phenylketonuria, and galactosemia patients. Key Words: Thiol / disulfide, Metabolic diseases, MSUD, Galactosemia, Hyperammonemia.

Observational StudyRelationship between Vitamin D Deficiency, Albuminuria, Peripheral Artery Disease and 5-year Mortality in Chronic Kidney Disease.
To investigate the effects of vitamin D deficiency, albuminuria and peripheral artery disease (PAD) relationships, on 5-year mortality in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) . ⋯ A total of 110 CKD patients, mean age of 62.1±9.7 years, 36.4% women, were included in the study. It was found that 17.3% of the patients had vitamin D deficiency, 15.4% had vitamin D insufficiency, 32.7% had asymptomatic PAD, 33.9% had microalbuminuria and 39.4% had macroalbuminuria. It was observed that as vitamin D levels decreased, the frequency of albuminuria, and the prevalence of PAD, was on an increasing trend. A significant correlation was found between 5-year mortality, gender, body mass index (BMI), glomerular filtration rate (eGFR), urine albumin creatinine ratio (UACR), hemoglobin A1c (A1c), calcium (Ca), phosphate (P), vitamin D, ankle brachial index (ABI), and the neutrophil lymphocyte ratio (NLR) as a result of univariate cox-regressionanalysis. In the multivariate cox-regression model, it was observed that vitamin D, ABI and UACR levels continued being significant, independent of age, gender, BMI and eGFR levels. Conclusion: Vitamin D deficiency, PAD and albuminuria, which are separate predictors of mortality, were shown to be independent predictors of long-term mortality in CKD patients. Key Words: Chronic kidney disease, Mortality, Peripheral arterial disease, Vitamin D deficiency, Albuminuria, Ankle-brachial index.

Case ReportsHypersensitivity Pneumonitis in a Pediatric Patient.
Hypersensitivity pneumonitis (HP) is a rarely diagnosed interstitial lung disease with variable manifestations. It results from repeated inhalation of certain antigens, e.g. mold, avian antigen, etc. in susceptible patients. The diagnosis is made by exposure history, relevant clinical presentation, and specific radiologic features. ⋯ We report a 7.5-year girl with HP. She was admitted for cough and severe respiratory distress. Key Words: Hypersensitivity pneumonitis, Antigen, Allergy, Child.

Topical Ocular Anesthetic Use among Welders of Rawalpindi City, Pakistan.
A descriptive cross-sectional survey was done from January to June 2018 in welding shops of Rawalpindi city, Pakistan. The objectives of the study were to determine the frequency of topical ocular anesthetic use among welders and to assess the knowledge and practices of welders regarding safety measures. One hundred and fifty-eight welders from age group of 20 years and above, having welding work experience of more than one year, were included in the study. ⋯ Statistically significant association was found between knowledge and practices of welders regarding their safety measures (p<0.05). On binary logistic regression, work experience was found to be the strongest predictor of good knowledge (OR = 4.15, 95% CI = 1.45 - 12.15) and practices (OR=10.46 95% CI = 2.92 - 37.51). Key Words: Welder, Topical anesthetic abuse, Knowledge, Practices, Perceptions.
