Neurological Outcomes of Normothermia versus Targeted Temperature Management in Post-cardiac Arrest Syndrome.
To determine the neurological outcome of targeted temperature management (TTM)for patients scoring lower than 8 on the Glasgow coma scale (GCS) upon return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC) after cardiac arrest. ⋯ Neurological results were better in the TTM group of patients with ROSC. However, there was no significant difference in mortality between the TTMand non-TTM groups. Key Words: Targeted temperature management, Cardiac arrest, Neurological outcome, Cerebral performance category.

Most pathology of the thymus gland warrant its surgical removal; and this requires significant expertise and adequate medical set-up. This study aimed to audit the results of thymectomies performed in a specialised tertiary level centre in a resource-poor country. The outcomes of open and minimally invasive video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) thymectomies were also compared. ⋯ No significant differences were found in mean operative times and overall survival between groups. In selected cases, thymectomy via VATS is safer and comparable to open thymectomy in terms of operative safety and oncological completeness. Key Words: Thymus, VATS, Thymectomy, Outcome.

IVF Outcomes of Microdose Flare-up, GnRH Antagonist, and Long Protocols in Patients having a Poor Ovarian Response in the First Treatment Cycle.
To compare the IVF outcome of patients assumed to be poor responders before their first cycle treated by microdose flare-up or GnRH antagonist protocols with patients who had a poor ovarian response after their first cycle stimulated with long GnRH protocol. ⋯ Long protocol may be an option in poor responders undergoing IVF. Ovarian reserve markers are essential factors with stimulation protocol for the success of IVF in poor responder patients. Key Words: Infertility, Ovulation ınduction, Ovarian reserve, Fertilisation in-vitro, Oocyte retrieval, Pregnancy outcome, Reproductive techniques, Assisted.

Effect of Very Advanced Maternal Age on Pregnant Women and Fetuses.
To compare the difference in the effect on pregnant women and fetuses between very advanced maternal age (age of or over 45 years) and other ages (age below 45 years). ⋯ The incidence of gestational complications and adverse perinatal outcomes may be increased in very advanced maternal age singleton pregnant women aged over 45 years. Key Words: Very advanced maternal age, Pregnant women, Pregnancy, Fetus, Complications.
