Observational StudyCT Chest Severity Score for COVID 19 Pneumonia: A Quantitative Imaging Tool for Severity Assessment of Disease.
To determine a cut-off value of Chest CT severity score (CT-SS) in order to discriminate between the clinical types of COVID-19 pneumonia. ⋯ Significant differences were noted regarding the scoring of lung opacity in mild and severe groups in each lung segment, p <0.05. The most significantly involved segments were right lower lobe's medial and lateral basal segment, left upper lobe's superior lingular segment and left lower lobe's medial basal and lateral basal segments. To discriminate mild versus severe disease, CT-SS threshold value turned out to be 19.5 Conclusion: CTSS may be of value for a prompt and objective means of assessing the degree of severity and disease burden in lungs. Key Words: COVID-19, COVID-19 diagnosis, Pneumonia, Novel coronavirus, CT severity score, Respiratory tract infection, Triage, Pandemic, RT-PCR, SARS-COV 2, Outbreak.

Observational StudyCholecystectomy with Thoracic Epidural Anesthesia in Geriatric Patients.
To determine the outcome of thoracic epidural anaesthesia in open cholecystectomy procedures of comorbid advanced elderly patients. ⋯ In open cholecystectomy operations on comorbid advanced elderly patients, thoracic epidural anaesthesia can be preferred to general anaesthesia. Key Words: Geriatrics, Cholecystectomy, Anesthesia, Thoracic epidural, Comorbidity.

Vitamin D Levels and Vitamin D Receptor (VDR) Gene Polymorphisms in Inactive Hepatitis B Virus Carriers.
To evaluate the vitamin D receptor (VDR) gene polymorphisms and vitamin D levels in inactive hepatitis B virus (HBV) carriers. ⋯ Vitamin D deficiency is highly prevalent both among control population as well as in chronic hepatitis patients. Key Words: Inactive HBV carrier, Vitamin D, Polymorphism, Vitamin D receptor (VDR).

Observational StudyThe Prognostic Effects of Clinicopathological Features on Rectal Cancer Patients undergoing Neoadjuvant Chemoradiotherapy.
To investigate the effects of clinicopathological features on disease-free survival (DFS) and overall survival (OS) in in-patients with local advanced rectal cancer (LARC) who received neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy (nCRT). ⋯ LVI, the ypTN stage, and the pLN+ number affected the disease-free survival, while the residual tumour diameter after nCRT, ypT stage, and PNI affected the overall survival. The predicted DFS time decreased as the ypT stage increased and the predicted OS time decreased as the recurrence increased. Key Words: Rectal cancer, Neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy, Disease-free survival, Overall survival.

Safety and Efficacy of Aminophylline in Intrathecal Methotrexate-related Neurological Toxicity in Large Pediatric Oncology Centre.
Children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia, receiving intrathecal methotrexate (IT-MTX), develop acute and subacute neurological dysfunction in 3-15% of cases. Altered level of consciousness, seizure, and stroke-like manifestations are among the most common presentations. MRI of the brain in an early stage is consistent with white matter leukoencephalopathy. ⋯ Aminophylline was, hence, coined as a salvageable therapy. No noticeable side effects were observed during treatment with aminophylline infusion. Key Words: Intrathecal methotrexate, Neurotoxicity, Children, Cancer, Aminophylline.
