Systemic Immune-inflammation Index (SII) Predicts Pathological Complete Response to Neoadjuvant Chemoradiotherapy in Locally Advanced Rectal Cancer.
To determine the relationship between inflammatory markers and pathological complete response (pCR) in patients with locally advanced rectal cancer (LARC), who received neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy (NACRT). ⋯ Baseline SII might be an independent predictive factor for pCR in patients receiving NACRT with a diagnosis of LARC. Key Words: Locally advanced rectal cancer, Neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy, Pathological complete response, Inflammatory index, Systemic immune-inflammation index, SII, NLR, PLR, LMR, PNI.

Observational StudyDermatoscopy and Reflective Confocal Microscopy for Facial Seborrheic Keratosis, Verruca Plana, and Nevus Pigmentosus.
To describe the features of facial seborrheic keratosis, verruca plana, and nevus pigmentosus by dermatoscopy and reflective confocal microscope (RCM). ⋯ Used in combination with clinical manifestations, the application of dermatoscopy and RCM may help distinguish seborrheic keratosis, verruca plana, and nevus pigmentosus on the basis of their respective dermatoscopic and RCM features. Key Words: Dermatoscopy, Reflective confocal microscope, Seborrheic keratosis, Verruca plana, Nevus pigmentosus, Brain-like structures, Rose-like structure.

Observational StudyRisk Factors for Systemic Inflammatory Response Syndrome in Patients with Negative Preoperative Urine Culture after Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy.
To explore the risk factors for systemic inflammatory response syndrome (SIRS) after percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) in patients with preoperative negative urine culture (UC). ⋯ PLR, CRP, stone size, and hemoglobin drop can predict SIRS after PCNL. This finding may help classify risk in patients before PCNL, especially in those with a sterile urine culture. Key Words: C-reactive protein, Percutaneous nephrolithotomy, Platelet/lymphocyte ratio, Systemic inflammatory response syndrome.

Observational StudyEffects of Preoperative Statin on the Frequency of Ventricular Fibrillation and C-Reactive Protein Level in Patients Undergoing Isolated Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting.
To investigate the effects of statin use in preoperative period on the development of ventricular fibrillation (VF) following the removal of aortic cross-clamp (ACC) and on the levels of inflammation biomarker C-reactive protein (CRP) in patients who undergo elective isolated coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). ⋯ Preoperative statin use significantly reduced VF development after the removal of ACC, and decreased postoperative CRP levels. Key Words: Coronary artery bypass grafting, Statins, Pleiotropic effect, Ventricular fibrillation, C-reactive protein.

Case ReportsFirst Fenestrated Endovascular Aortic Aneurysm Repair in Pakistan.
Fenestrated grafts form an alternative to open surgery, and are already increasingly being offered as part of the standard spectrum of treatment in developed countries. The past two decades have seen rapid developments in fenestrated endovascular aneurysm repair (fEVAR)/branched (bEVAR) expertise, to the point where the results are striking and can compete with those of conventional surgery. We here report the case of an 82-year male, who was diagnosed with an abdominal aortic aneurysm 10 years ago. ⋯ Patient remains stable and asymptomatic at 6-month follow-up. To the best of our knowledge, it is the first reported case of successful fEVAR from Pakistan. Key Words: Fenestrated grafts, Abdominal aortic aneurysm, Endovascular.
