Sofosbuvir-based Treatment for HCV: A Safe Option in Patients Undergoing Hemodialysis.
The objective of this study was to ascertain the safety and efficacy of sofosbuvir in patients undergoing hemodialysis. Twenty-three HCV infected patients undergoing hemodialysis were included. Sofosbuvir was administered in combinations with ribavirin, daclatasvir and ledipasvir for 12-24 weeks. ⋯ Adverse effects were not observed. Hence, sofosbuvir can be safely used in patients undergoing hemodialysis. Key Words: Sofosbuvir, Hemodialysis, Hepatitis C.

Risk of Infertility Index in Women with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome.
To construct the risk of infertility index for women with polycystic ovarian syndrome, that can be used to assess the prognostic factors for conception; and categorise them in mild, moderate and high-risk groups. ⋯ PCOS patients can be categorised in mild, moderate and high-risk depending on the score on RII scale. The patients with higher score of RII had fewer chances of pregnancy with assisted reproductive technologies (ART). Once the intensity of the risk of PCOS is identified, focused management can be implied thereby reducing the duration of infertility and cost of the treatment. Key Words: Risk, Female infertility, Index, Polycystic ovarian syndrome, Assisted reproductive technology.

Evaluation of the Mechanical Properties of Anorectal Tissues and Muscles by Shear Wave Elastography in Anal Fıssure Disease.
To evaluate the mechanical properties of the tissues and muscles in the anal region with the shearwave elastography for anal fissure etiology. ⋯ In elastographic measurement of fissure area (fissure) and normal anorectal tissue (control, AFE); control group values were significantly higher than the fissure group values (p<0.001, and padj <0.001, respectively). Control group valuesof internal anal sphincter in rest and Valsalva maneuver (IAS-R, and IAS-V, respectively) were significantly higher than the fissure group values (p<0.001, padj< 0.001, and p<0.001, padj <0.001, respectively). There was no significant difference between the elastographic measurement values in rest and valsalva maneuver of the external anal sphincter (EAS-R and EAS-V) (p>0.05). Elastographic measurement values of levator ani muscle (LAM) resting state; were significantly higher in thefissure group than the control group (p<0.001, and padj <0.001, respectively). Elastographic cut-off values that differentiate the fissure group from control group were found to be ≤1kPa forAFE group, ≤44 kPa forIAS-R, ≤0.4kPa forIAS-V,and >11kPa for LAM,respectively. Conclusıon: In anal fissure disease, tissues mechanical properties measured by shear wave elastography showed increased tissue stiffness, which may be added to etiology of this disease. Key Words: Anal fissure, Ultrasonography, Shear wave elastography, Anal sphincter, Tissue elasticity, Tissue stiffness.

Peer-assisted Learning (PAL) as an Instructional Tool in Undergraduate Dental Education.
To evaluate the difference in peer-assisted learning (PAL) and expert-assisted learning (EAL) sessions for selected topics of orthodontics, conducted by either a peer or faculty member, respectively as measured by their test scores. ⋯ In terms of test scores, academic performance and overall learning in PAL sessions was not higher than EAL group. Nonetheless, PAL can be utilised as an important supplement to synchronous teaching tele-presence by faculty as being practised during current pandemic situation in many medical and dental institutes. Key Words: Peer-assisted learning, Educational strategies, Professional development, Expert-assisted learning, Ethical review committee, Team-based learning.

Comparison of Sequence Specific Primers in the Next Generation Sequencing in Human Leukocyte Antigen Typing for Transplant Recipients.
To compare two human leukocyte antigen (HLA) typing methods, namely sequence specific primers (SSP) and next generation sequencing (NGS) for alleles concordance Study Design: Descriptive study. ⋯ Batch testing, high throughput, improved accuracy, more loci coverage, maximum gene coverage including all exons and introns and high-resolution typing confer significant advantages to next generation sequencing over old methods of HLA typing. This technique is suitable for high throughput laboratories. High running cost hampers its routine implementation in 3rd world countries. Key Words: Human leukocyte antigen, Next generation sequencing, High resolution.
