Case ReportsDisseminated Kaposi's Sarcoma in an Immunosuppressed Patient after Long-Term Inhaled and Systemic Steroid Therapy.
Kaposi's sarcoma is associated with immunosuppressant treatment administered to patients with organ transplant and other immune related disorders. Several case reports have reported association of Kaposi's sarcoma and steroids. Almost all patients in those case reports had localised disease to skin and they responded to tapering doses or discontinuation of steroids. ⋯ He had low lymphocytes and CD4 counts. He also had steroid-induced hypoadrenalism. Patient was treated with systemic chemotherapy due to visceral metastases to which he responded well and is in stable remission.

Randomized Controlled TrialEfficacy of Probiotics Versus Placebo in the Prevention of Necrotizing Enterocolitis in Preterm Very Low Birth Weight Infants: A Double-Blind Randomized Controlled Trial.
To evaluate the efficacy of orally administered probiotics in preventing necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC) in preterm very low birth weight (VLBW) infants. ⋯ Probiotic supplementation reduces the frequency of necrotising enterocolitis in preterm neonates with very low birth weight. It is also associated with faster achievement of full oral feeding and short duration of hospital stay.

Flipped Class - Making that One Hour Effective in a Resource Constrained Setting.
Flipped-class teaching has a great potential to replace traditional lectures in medical education. This study was designed to explore attitude of undergraduate medical students from Pakistan towards flipped-class. Five flipped classes were conducted in third year MBBS by a single teacher for a class of 100 students. ⋯ Seventy-one students participated in the survey, 84.5% students liked this method of teaching. Students identified fruitful interaction, better retention, better conceptualisation, prior knowledge, active learning, individual student attention, and application of knowledge as strengths of the class. Noise, limited time, lack of self-confidence, and presence of uninterested students were identified as problems for engaging in the class.

Case ReportsFungal Esophagitis in a Child with Insulin Dependent Diabetes Mellitus.
Esophagitis in children is not uncommon, mostly due to gastro-esophageal reflux. Other conditions like eosinophilic and infective esophagitis need to be elucidated in differential diagnoses. Fungal orCandida esophagitisusually occurs in high risk children who are immune-compromised, malnourished, on steroid therapy or have uncontrolled diabetes mellitus. ⋯ Physical examination was normal with good oral hygiene. Failure in responding to conventional medications led to endoscopic evaluation, which revealed white patches and esophageal inflammation and diagnosed as fungal esophagitis on histopathology. Although infective esophagitis is encountered sporadically in pediatric age group, but it should always be considered in high risk individuals and when conventional medication fails to resolve the symptoms.
