Meta AnalysisEffects of Physical Activity on Thyroid Stimulating Hormone Levels in Obese Metabolic Syndrome Patients: A Meta-Analysis.
Metabolic syndrome is a combination of multiple disorders that predispose an individual to risk of diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular diseases (CVDs), cerebrovascular accidents (CVAs), and insulin-resistance. Hypothyroidism is the most prevalent metabolic disorder causing obesity, followed by hypercortisolism and hypogonadism. Hence, this study aimed to determine the effects of various exercises on thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) levels in obese patients with metabolic syndrome. ⋯ It was concluded that although a pooled moderate effect of training on TSH levels was observed when all the studies were analysed using a continuous measure analysis SMD model, an individual analysis of the studies revealed a mild effect, with many studies also revealing the negative impact of training on TSH levels. Nonetheless, exercise-based intervention strategies are safe and effective as a management strategy for hypothyroidism and obesity due to hypothyroidism. Key Words: Thyroid hormone, Exercise, Metabolic syndrome, Obesity, TSH level.

Meta AnalysisImproving Kyphotic Postures and Neck Pain in Young Adults: A Meta-Analysis of Exercise-Based Interventions.
The study aimed to review the findings concerning the effects of exercises on Cobb angle and pain in patients suffering from cervical pain caused by thoracic kyphosis. Two investigators separately conducted a systematic review of the electronic literature from 2018 till 2022. PubMed, MEDLINE, Web of Science, Science Direct, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Clinical Trials, Google Scholar, and Scopus were among the electronic databases that were accessed. ⋯ The between-groups pooled random SMD for Cobb angle and pain showed a larger effect size of -2.146 and -1.126, respectively. The findings suggested that physical therapy exercise may result in larger changes among the Cobb angle and neck pain of kyphotic patients. Key Words: Exercise, Physical therapy, Cobb angle, Pain, Thoracic kyphotic angle, Conservative management.

Randomized Controlled TrialHigh, Low, and Minimal Flow Anaesthesia Management: Effects on Oxygen Reserve Index and Arterial Partial Oxygen Pressure.
To determine the oxygen reserve index (ORI) as a supporting parameter to the arterial partial oxygen pressure (PaO2) in blood gases in hypoxia and hyperoxia monitoring with different fresh gas flows (FGF) in patients undergoing abdominal surgery. ⋯ Anaesthesia, Index, Inhalation, Oxygen, Pressure, Surgery.
