Lipid control and its associated factors among patients with dyslipidemia in Jordan.
Lipid control represents a cornerstone in the management of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD). Nevertheless, little research has explored the factors associated with poor lipid control in patients with dyslipidaemia. ⋯ Lipid profile has considerable scope for improvement in patients with dyslipidaemia in Jordan. Improving medication adherence by emphasising on medication necessity and simplifying the prescribed dosage regimen, particularly in smoking patients and those who have ASCVD, should be particularly considered in future clinical pharmacy service programmes aim at improving lipid control and health outcomes in patients with dyslipidaemia.

Peripheral muscle strength is associated with aerobic fitness and use of antibiotics in patients with cystic fibrosis.
Individuals with cystic fibrosis (CF) may develop muscle abnormalities, although little is known on its clinical and functional impact. This study aimed to evaluate the association of peripheral muscle strength with aerobic fitness, habitual physical activity, lung function and the use of antibiotics (ATB) in patients with CF. ⋯ The results have shown that peripheral muscle strength is associated with aerobic fitness and the use of antibiotics in patients with CF.

Premature ejaculation (PE) is a common problem in male sexual health that significantly affects the quality of life. We aimed to evaluate the association of PE with obstructive sleep apnoea syndrome (OSAS), which is characterised by chronic oxidative stress, and to assess the effects of continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) therapy on PE. ⋯ For the first time in literature, we determined that the presence of OSAS was associated with significantly worse IELT and AIPE scores in males with PE, and the treatment of OSAS was related to the significant improvements in both scores, in the absence of any specific treatments for PE.

A modified Delphi consensus study to identify improvement proposals for COPD management amongst clinicians and administrators in Spain.
To identify the obstacles hindering the appropriate management of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in Spain based on consensus amongst clinicians and administrators. ⋯ Different agents involved in COPD management agree that the main challenges to improve COPD management are resource shortages in primary care nursing and lack of training in the use of COPD clinical guidelines. Clinicians and administrators involved in COPD management support the implementation of urgent measures to tackle the underdiagnosis of COPD, especially in primary care, along with the routine inclusion of respiratory rehabilitation programmes for COPD.

Thiol-disulfide balance and total oxidant-antioxidant status in patients with chronic hepatitis C.
To assess the dynamic thiol/disulphide homeostasis (DTDH) and total oxidant/antioxidant status in patients with hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection and to evaluate their association with HCV-RNA levels. ⋯ Our results suggest that DTDH shifts towards the DS direction because of thiol oxidation in HCV-infected patients. Furthermore, DS levels were significantly higher in patients with high HCV-RNA levels compared with patients with low HCV-RNA levels.
