Review Meta AnalysisDietary Inflammatory Index in relation to Type 2 Diabetes: A Meta-Analysis.
Epidemiologic studies show a strong association between chronic inflammation and type 2 diabetes (T2D). Diet may also affect the risk of T2D by modulating inflammation. This meta-analysis aimed to assess the relation of dietary inflammatory index (DII) and risk of T2D. ⋯ Higher DII might be associated with an increased risk of T2D. Additional well-designed studies are required to confirm this finding.

Review Meta AnalysisThe Association between Allergic Rhinitis and COVID-19: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.
Previous studies have yielded conflicting results regarding the association of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) with allergic rhinitis (AR). Data on AR prevalence in COVID-19 patients are limited. Consequently, whether AR is a harmful or protective factor for COVID-19 patients remains controversial. Therefore, we analyzed the relationship between COVID-19 and AR. ⋯ Our data suggest that allergic rhinitis is a protective factor in patients with COVID-19.

Review Meta AnalysisValue of DWI Combined with Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy in the Differential Diagnosis between Recurrent Glioma and Radiation Injury: A Meta-Analysis.
To analyse the value of the apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) in diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) and the choline (Cho)/creatine (Cr) ratio and Cho/N-acetyl-aspartate (NAA) ratio in magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) in the differential diagnosis between recurrent glioma and radiation injury. Chinese and English studies related to the diagnosis of recurrent glioma and radiation injury using DWI and MRS and published before 15 October 2022 were retrieved from PubMed, Embase, the Cochrane Library, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, China Biomedical Literature Database, VIP Journal Database, and Wanfang Database for a meta-analysis. A total of 11 articles were included in this study. ⋯ The sensitivity and specificity of the Cho/NAA ratio were 0.82 (0.66-0.91) and 0.94 (0.69-0.99), respectively, and the area under the curve was 0.93. This meta-analysis showed that ADC, Cho/Cr, and Cho/NAA ratios all had high sensitivity and specificity. Therefore, DWI combined with MRS can effectively improve the diagnosis of recurrent glioma and radiation injury.

Review Meta AnalysisMedicine Adherence and Associated Factors in Immigrants and Refugees: A Systematic Review.
Medicine nonadherence is a major contributing factor to morbidity and mortality. Almost half of the chronically ill patients are nonadherent to their medication. Vulnerable groups like immigrants and refugees are at a higher risk of poor medication adherence. ⋯ Further research is required to address the effect of nonadherence on clinical outcomes. Studies should focus on using a consistent definition of adherence and the same objective methods to measure rates of adherence to allow for meta-analysis of data and definitive results. Healthcare professionals (HCPs) are recommended to target interventions at improving adherence and reducing modifiable risk factors in immigrants and refugees, thus reducing health disparities among the population.

Meta AnalysisLower Blood Lipid Level Is Associated with the Occurrence of Parkinson's Disease: A Meta-Analysis and Systematic Review.
The changes of blood lipid levels in patients with Parkinson's disease (PD) and its clinical relevance remain unclear. We aimed to evaluate the potential association of blood lipid and the occurrence of PD, to provide evidence to the clinical treatment and nursing care of PD. ⋯ Lower blood TC, TG, HDL-C, and LDL-C level are associated with the occurrence of PD. Limited by sample size and study population, further high-quality, large-sample clinical trials in different areas are needed to further determine the relationship between blood lipids and PD in the future.
