Is Pedicle-Based Hybrid Stabilization (PBHS) protecting posterior lumbar fixation from adjacent-segment failure? Finite element analysis and comparison of different systems.
Interbody fusion is a very common surgical treatment for degenerative disc diseases. It is necessary to explain the effect of Pedicle Based Hybrid Stabilization systems (PBHS) on the lumbar spine, as there is no consensus in the literature about their performance. ⋯ III; well-designed computational non-experimental study.

Meta AnalysisPlatelet-rich plasma has better mid-term clinical results than traditional steroid injection for plantar fasciitis: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
Recently, local platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injection has been gradually used in the treatment of plantar fasciitis (PF). However, compared with traditional steroid injection, the clinical results of local PRP injection for PF patients remain controversial. Therefore, we performed a systematic review to focus on two questions as follows: (1) is PRP more effective than steroid to relieve pain in PF patients? (2) is PRP more effective than steroid to improve the foot and ankle function of PF patients? ⋯ II; Systematic review and Meta-analysis.

Significance of Tip Apex Distance in Intertrochanteric Fracture femur managed with Proximal femoral nailing.
Tip Apex distance (TAD) is well established method of prediction of outcome in intertrochanteric fractures managed by Dynamic Hip Screw. This retrospective study was done to assess the significance of Tip Apex Distance in the management of the intertrochanteric fractures by Proximal femoral nail. ⋯ IV.

Volar rerouting of the 1,2 intercompartmental supraretinacular artery vascularized bone graft for middle and distal scaphoid nonunions.
The bone graft vascularized by the 1,2 intercompartmental supraretinacular artery (1,2 ICSRA) placed on the scaphoid by a dorsal approach is a technique used to treat scaphoid nonunions with avascular necrosis of the proximal pole and without significant bone loss or carpus collapse. We present the results of patients treated with a volar rerouting of the 1,2 ICSRA graft under the tendons of the first extensor compartment to treat more distal scaphoid nonunions than the proximal pole. The aim of this study was to assess the clinical and radiological outcomes of patients operated with this technique with the hypothesis that it would allow to treat more distal nonunions than those of the proximal pole. ⋯ IV.

Inter- and intra-observer reliability assessment of the 2018 AO/OTA classification for high-energy pelvic ring injuries: a retrospective study.
a fracture classification system should be a reliable and reproducible means of communication between different observers. It should be logical, comprehensible, and shouldn't contain an unmanageable number of categories. The aim of this study was to assess the intra- and inter-observer agreement and reliability of the revised 2018 AO/OTA classification for high-energy pelvic ring injuries (PRI), at the level of the types, groups, subgroups and qualifications. ⋯ III; retrospective diagnostic study.
