Multicenter StudyEnhanced recovery short-stay hip and knee joint replacement program improves patients outcomes while reducing hospital costs.
An attractive option to reduce hospital length of stay (LOS) after hip or knee joint replacement (THA, TKA) is to follow the Enhanced Recovery After Surgery principles (ERAS) to improve patient experience to a level where they will feel confident to leave for home earlier. The objective of this study was to evaluate the implementation of short-stay protocol following the ERAS principles. ⋯ Level II.

Multicenter StudyThree-dimensional analyses to predict surgical outcomes in non-displaced or valgus impaction fractures of the femoral neck: A multicenter retrospective study.
The aim of our study was to (1) report our surgical outcomes of internal fixation in patients with non-displaced or valgus impaction fractures of the femoral neck, (2) introduce our new three-dimensional assessment method using a combination of X-ray and CT imaging, and (3) determine which radiologic measurements significantly predicted fixation failure. ⋯ III, Retrospective comparative study.

Multicenter Study Observational StudyInterprosthetic femoral fractures: Morbidity and mortality in a retrospective, multicenter study.
Interprosthetic femoral fractures (IFF) are becoming more frequent; however they have not been the subject of many publications and the largest study on this topic includes only 30 cases. The complication rate and clinical outcomes have only been evaluated in small case series. This led us to conduct a retrospective, multicenter, observational study in IFF patients with at least 12 months' follow-up to (1) determine the mortality and morbidity (2) determine the clinical and radiological outcomes and (3) identify elements of the treatment indications. ⋯ IV, Retrospective study.

Multicenter StudyAre French orthopedic and trauma surgeons affected by burnout? Results of a nationwide survey.
Burnout is a pathology that can affect care-giving professionals. It associates emotional exhaustion (EE), depersonalization (DP) and impaired personal accomplishment (PA). Surgery entails great responsibility and frequently heavy workloads, incurring risk of burnout. Data, however, are not available for French orthopedic and trauma surgeons. We therefore conducted a prospective survey to 1) assess burnout prevalence in French orthopedic surgeons, and 2) investigate risk factors and protective factors. ⋯ Level IV, prospective descriptive transverse study without control group.
