Complications of the Luque-Galveston scoliosis correction technique in paediatric cerebral palsy.
Severe scoliosis is a very frequent condition in cerebral palsy children (CP). It is surgically managed, with unit rod instrumentation being the gold standard in English-speaking countries. The purpose of this work was to report on a small, homogeneous series of non-ambulatory, quadriplegic, spastic patients treated by the Luque-Galveston technique in Strasbourg, France. We present the radiographic outcome of the technique along with a full description of any post-operative complications encountered. ⋯ Level IV retrospective therapeutic study.

Comparative StudyOllier's disease limb lenghtening: should intramedullary nailing be combined with circular external fixation?
During progressive lower limb lengthening in the management of Ollier's disease, the mean bone-healing index usually reported in the literature stands around 35 days/cm. One of the therapeutic objectives is to reduce the duration of the external fixation. ⋯ Level III, comparative retrospective study.

Is external rotation the correct immobilisation for acute shoulder dislocation? An MRI study.
Anterior dislocation of the shoulder is frequent, with high rates of recurrence. Immobilization in external rotation (ER) seems to improve results, although few studies have actually demonstrated this. The present MRI study examined the impact of ER on labral and capsular ligamentous complex lesions after primary dislocation. ⋯ Level IV. Retrospective therapeutic study.

Total hip arthroplasty offset measurement: is C T scan the most accurate option?
Femoral offset is difficult to precisely evaluate with conventional X-ray techniques. Femoral offset characterizes the balance between body weight and the resistance provided by the abductor muscles. Total hip arthroplasties should respect this balance. ⋯ Level III diagnostic prospective study.
