Review Meta AnalysisEfficacy of vitamin C in preventing complex regional pain syndrome after wrist fracture: A systematic review and meta-analysis.
Complex regional pain syndrome type I (CRPS-I), previously known as reflex sympathetic dystrophy, is common after conservatively or surgically treated wrist fractures. Several studies support the efficacy of vitamin C in preventing CRPS-I, although the data are somewhat conflicting. The primary objective of this systematic literature review and meta-analysis was to assess the efficacy of vitamin C therapy in preventing CRPS-I after a wrist fracture. ⋯ II, systematic review of level I and II studies.

Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative StudyEffectiveness of prolotherapy in the treatment of chronic rotator cuff lesions.
Rotator cuff lesions are one of the major causes of shoulder pain and dysfunction. Numerous non-surgical treatment modalities have been described for chronic rotator cuff lesions, but the debate continues over the optimal procedure. The aim of this report is to present the results of prolotherapy in the treatment of chronic refractory rotator cuff lesions. ⋯ Level of evidence 1.

Case ReportsHawkins' type-II talar fracture with subtalar dislocation: A very unusual combination.
We report the unusual case of a 16-year-old young man who sustained a rare association of a Hawkins' type-II talar neck fracture with a complete medial subtalar dislocation (Hawkins type-IIB) that occurred as an isolated injury after indirect trauma during a soccer game. Following closed reduction of the subtalar dislocation, standard radiographs and computed tomography (CT) demonstrated a comminuted fracture of the talus involving the base of the talar neck. Open reduction was performed and the fracture was stabilized by ORIF. At 1-year follow-up, functional and radiographic outcomes were graded as excellent, with no radiographic evidence of talar osteonecrosis.

Lasso plate - An original implant for fixation of type I and II Regan-Morrey coronoid fractures.
Coronoid fractures are notoriously difficult to manage particularly when there is a small fragment. We report a retrospective analysis of our experience with consecutive type I and II Regan-Morrey coronoid fractures using a lasso plate. ⋯ Level IV: retrospective study.

Preoperative planning for accurate glenoid component positioning in reverse shoulder arthroplasty.
Glenoid component positioning in reverse shoulder arthroplasty (RSA) is challenging. Patient-specific instrumentation (PSI) has been advocated to improve accuracy, and is based on precise preoperative planning. The purpose of this study was to determine the accuracy of glenoid component positioning when only the glenoid surface is visible, compared to when the entire scapula is visible on a 3D virtual model. ⋯ Basic science study. Level III.
