Natural History of Cavernous Carotid Artery Aneurysms: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.
Cavernous carotid artery aneurysms (CCAAs) represent a common condition seen in clinical practice with significant practice variability. The aim of this systematic review and meta-analysis was to aggregate current evidence on the natural history of CCAAs. ⋯ CCAAs are typically benign lesions with a low risk of rupture and life-threatening complications. CCAAs tend to follow an indolent course regarding non-cerebrovascular outcomes, and new or worsening symptoms are infrequent during the clinical course. However, spontaneous resolution of non-cerebrovascular symptoms and cranial nerve deficits at presentation is uncommon.

Cervical-Level Regional Paraspinal Nerve Block in Cervical Spine Surgery: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis of Randomized Controlled Trials.
Regional paraspinal nerve block techniques have shown promise in cervical spine surgery pain relief and opioid reduction. The study aims to evaluate cervical-level regional paraspinal nerve block techniques in cervical spine surgery. ⋯ Cervical-level regional paraspinal nerve block effectively reduces postoperative pain and opioid usage, particularly with a dosage exceeding 10 mL, utilizing ESPB and ISPB techniques, administered posteriorly, bilaterally, and under ultrasound guidance.

Systematic review and meta-analysis of the association between appearance of lesions on diffusion-weighted imaging and poor outcomes among patients with intracerebral hemorrhage.
Some patients with intracerebral hemorrhage show lesions on diffusion-weighted magnetic resonance imaging, and such lesions have been associated with a greater risk of worse prognosis. Here we meta-analyzed the available evidence for such an association. ⋯ Lesions on DWI after intracerebral hemorrhage were associated with a higher risk of poor outcome, but large longitudinal studies are needed to verify this association.

Endovascular Treatment of Basilar Apex Aneurysms: An Updated Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis in the Era of Flow Diversion.
Endovascular options for the treatment of basilar apex aneurysms (BAAs) are heterogeneous, and evidence is limited to retrospective cohorts and case series. We seek to evaluate the efficacy and complications associated with various endovascular treatment methods of BAAs. ⋯ Occlusion rates were similar across treatments, but recurrence rates were significantly lower after Y-stents and FDS compared to primary coiling, although they carried a higher number of thromboembolic complications.

Invasive and Non-Invasive Techniques for Intracranial Pressure Monitoring after Decompressive Craniectomy: a systematic review and meta-analysis.
The use of invasive or noninvasive intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring post-decompressive craniectomy (DC) has been a continuous matter of debate. Accordingly, this meta-analysis aims to examine the existing evidence of both approaches and compare their impact among patients undergoing DC, guiding clinical decision-making in the management of elevated ICP. The databases used were Pubmed, Cochrane, Web of Science, and Embase. ⋯ Whereas in the noninvasive sample, a mortality rate of 20% (95% CI: 15%-26%) and a good outcome rate of 38% (95% CI: 25%-52%) were obtained. It seems that the effectiveness of invasive and noninvasive ICP monitoring methods are comparable in post-DC patients. While invasive monitoring remains gold standard, noninvasive methods offer a safer and cost-effective alternative, potentially improving post-DC patient care, and can mostly be used simultaneously with invasive methods.
