A 34-year-old man presented with a 2-year history of medically refractory Holmes tremor in the right upper limb. Magnetic resonance imaging revealed a large, nonenhancing, multiseptate cystic lesion of cerebrospinal fluid intensity in the left thalamopeduncular region causing brainstem compression and hydrocephalus. ⋯ Giant tumefactive perivascular spaces should be included as one of the rare differentials of a large, nonenhancing cystic lesion situated along the course of perforator vessels. Treatment options include cerebrospinal fluid diversion with or without cyst fenestration.

This study aimed to improve the reachability of large lumen catheter for contact aspiration during acute ischemic stroke by a new delivery assist catheter. ⋯ The new delivery assist catheter improved the reachability of the aspiration catheter to the thrombus and is an effective device for performing CANP technique.

Recruitment of diverse and talented students to the field of neurosurgery is key to its continued growth and scientific advancement. Barriers, including poor perceptions and lack of early exposure, can impact recruitment and have been compounded by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. This study examines the impact of an inaugural Neurosurgery Research Consortium meeting on premedical students, assessing whether this exposure generated interest and improved perceptions of a career in neurosurgery. ⋯ These results suggest recruitment strategies targeting undergraduate students may improve their perception of neurosurgery as a career, and may mitigate some barriers to entry. These strategies are cost effective and easily replicable, making an easily implementable approach to provide direct insight into neurosurgery for future medical students while also promoting academic efforts in the field of neurosurgery.

Knowing the motor branches and variations of the musculocutaneous nerve to the muscles along its course will facilitate the treatment of flexor spasticity and supracondylar fractures of the humerus in order to minimize nerve lesion. In fetal cadavers, the purpose of our study was to determine the number and course of the formation variations and motor branches of the musculocutaneous nerve. The significance of studying fetal nerve variations is due to injury to the brachial plexus roots during birth. ⋯ Our study's findings will aid in the diagnosis and treatment of pediatrics, orthopedics, surgical sciences, and radiology conditions. It reduces the risk of iatrogenic injury and postoperative complications. We also believe that our research will serve as a resource for anatomists and other scientists.

The determination of biological mechanisms and biomarkers related to intracranial aneurysm (IA) rupture is of utmost significance for the development of effective preventive and therapeutic strategies in the clinical field. ⋯ We reveal a new molecular subtype that can reflect the actual pathological state of IA rupture, and our predictive models constructed by machine learning algorithms can efficiently predict IA rupture.
