Neurosarcoidosis occurs in about 5% to 15% of patients with sarcoidosis. The purpose of this study was to identify and characterize a cohort of neurosarcoidosis patients and to review the largest previously reported neurosarcoidosis case series. ⋯ Fully comprehension of neurosarcoidosis is still a challenge due to its rarity and limited number of large published series, which renders the epidemiological study of this disease very difficult. In this study, the thoroughly medical records review and the summarize of previous published cohorts allow to add some information in the epidemiological and clinical knowledge of this entity.

Abnormal glucose regulation, hypoglycemic treatment during hospitalization and prognosis of acute ischemic stroke.
To examine the effect of abnormal glucose regulation on prognosis and whether hypoglycemic treatment during hospitalization improves prognosis in acute ischemic stroke patients. ⋯ Abnormal glucose regulation, especially DM, increased risks of 3-month poor outcomes after an acute ischemic stroke and hypoglycemic treatment during hospitalization might improve prognosis in ischemic stroke patients with DM.

Rapid sideline performance meets outpatient clinic: Results from a multidisciplinary concussion center registry.
This study investigated the utility of sideline concussion tests, including components of the Sports Concussion Assessment Tool, 3rd Edition (SCAT3) and the King-Devick (K-D), a vision-based test of rapid number naming, in an outpatient, multidisciplinary concussion center treating patients with both sports-related and non-sports related concussions. The ability of these tests to predict clinical outcomes based on the scores at the initial visit was evaluated. ⋯ This large-scale study of concussion patients supports the use of sideline concussion tests as part of outpatient concussion assessment, especially the total symptom and symptom severity score portions of the SCAT3 and the K-D. Women in this cohort had higher total symptom and symptom severity scores compared to men. Our data also suggest that those with non-sports-related concussions have longer lasting symptoms than those with sports-related concussions, and that these two groups should perhaps be regarded separately when assessing outcomes and needs in a multidisciplinary setting.

Poststroke depression (PSD) is prevalent and is an important determinant of functional recovery, quality of life and mortality after stroke. Scanty data on the nature of PSD among stroke survivors in sub-Saharan Africa prompted this study. ⋯ Almost 4 out of 10 stroke survivors in this Ghanaian cohort displayed clinically significant depression. Prospective interventional studies are urgently needed to provide solid evidence-based and culturally tailored interventions to address post-stroke depression particularly in LMICs.
