Detection of circulating tumour cells may add value in endometrial cancer management.
To evaluate the role of circulating tumour cells (CTCs) in patients with endometrial cancer (EC). ⋯ The presence of CTCs was correlated with cervical involvement. Early-stage EC patients with CTCs may benefit from additional adjuvant therapies. Assessment of CTCs may be useful in the management of high-risk EC patients.

Correlations between impulsiveness and biochemical parameters in women with polycystic ovary syndrome.
The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between anger, impulsiveness, and biochemical parameters (testosterone, insulin, insulin resistance) in women with polycystic ovary syndrome. ⋯ Androgens and glucose dysregulation seemingly affect anger expression as well as the attentional, motor, and non-planning-related impulsiveness of women with polycystic ovary syndrome.

Comparative StudyC-reactive protein response is higher in early than in late ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome.
Many in vitro fertilization (IVF) complications are inflammatory by nature, some of which are even life-threatening. We evaluated the response of C-reactive protein (CRP) in IVF complications, especially in early and late ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS), to support clinical decision making in gynecological emergency policlinics. ⋯ Early OHSS associates with a distinct rise in CRP level beyond that induced by uncomplicated oocyte pick-up, whereas the CRP levels in late OHSS are comparable to those in the control cycles. CRP identifies, but cannot distinguish IVF complications.

Comparative StudyV-Loc™ 180 suture in total laparoscopic hysterectomy: a retrospective study comparing Polysorb to barbed suture used for vaginal cuff closure.
Sutures in laparoscopy have been extensively developed in recent years. In this study, we assessed differences between Polysorb™ braided absorbable suture (CL-914) and V-Loc™ barbed suture (V-Loc 180) used in vaginal cuff closure during laparoscopic hysterectomy from various aspects. ⋯ V-Loc barbed suture can be used for vaginal cuff closure during TLH due to advantages such as less operative duration and blood loss, shorter postoperative and total hospital stay, and reduced VCG formation six months after TLH.

Incidence of wound complications in cesarean deliveries following closure with absorbable subcuticular staples versus conventional skin closure techniques.
To determine if there is a significant difference in composite wound complications among traditional closure techniques versus absorbable subcuticular staple closure. ⋯ Herein, we report a decreased incidence of composite wound complications with subcuticular staple closure versus traditional staple closure in patients undergoing cesarean section. Absorbable subcuticular staple closure represents a convenient, safe and cost-effective closure technique.
