Single nucleotide polymorphism in miRNAs can alter its expression, thus lead to the development of cancers. Numerous studies have explored the association between miR-149 gene rs2292832 polymorphism and hepatocellular carcinoma risk, but the results remains inconsistent. So, we performed this pooled analyses in order to get a precise result. ⋯ Our meta-analysis supports that the miR-149 gene rs2292832 polymorphism contributed to the risk of hepatocellular carcinoma from currently available evidence. However, a study with a larger sample size is needed to further evaluate gene-environment interaction on MiR-149 gene rs2292832 polymorphism and hepatocellular carcinoma risk.

Inconsistent results on the relationship between coffee consumption and pancreatic cancer risk has been reported in both epidemiological studies and previous meta-analyses. This updated meta-analyses was conducted to assess the association of coffee intake with pancreatic cancer risk. We evaluated the relationship of coffee ingestion and pancreatic cancer risk by performing a meta-analysis of prospective cohort studies and made an explicit document search in the PubMed database before November 2015. ⋯ Dose-response analysis indicated that every one-cup increase in coffee consumption was associated with an 1% increase in pancreatic cancer risk. No statistically significant publication biases existed. Coffee consumption may weakly increase the risk of pancreatic cancer.

Long noncoding RNA ANRIL: a potential novel prognostic marker in cancer: a meta-analysis.
Numerous researches have showed that the dysregulation of lncRNA ANRIL play a significant role in cancer progression, and high expression of ANRIL may have important clinical value. This meta-analysis aims to investigate potential clinical application role of ANRIL as a biomarker for cancer prognosis. ⋯ High expression of ANRIL is associated with poor clinical outcome. ANRIL might be act as a novel potential prognostic biomarker in various cancers.

Positive association between IL-16 rs1131445 polymorphism and cancer risk: a meta-analysis.
The association between IL-16 rs1131445 polymorphism and cancer risk is not consistent or even contradictory, this meta-analysis aims to investigate the role of IL-16 gene rs1131445 polymorphisms in the risk of cancer. ⋯ IL-16 rs1131445 C/T polymorphism is related to the susceptibility to cancer in Asians, suggesting that the C allelic gene of rs1131445 is significantly associated with an increasing cancer risk.
