COVID-19 maintains its seriousness as a global emergency with its rapid distribution worldwide. Ferritin/lymphocyte percentage ratio (FLPR) may appear as a prognostic value at the initial evaluation stage and thus can be used as a simple, effective and reliable parameter in identification of patients critically ill with COVID-19. ⋯ FLPR, a new parameter, can be used as a significant marker to predict the 28-day mortality patients (Tab. 6, Fig. 1, Ref. 25). A useful tool for determining the presence of systemic inflammation is the neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR). Chronic inflammation causes more microvascular resistance, which is known to be involved with coronary slow flow (CSF). Aortic flow propagation velocity (APV) can be used to evaluate the aorta's rigidity. We hypothesized that NLR and APV might be related to CSF. Therefore, we aimed to evaluate the NLR and APV in CSF patients. ⋯ APV was significantly associated with TFC, and it is independently associated with CSF (Tab. 4, Fig. 3, Ref. 30). Text in PDF www.elis.sk Keywords: coronary slow flow, neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio, aortic flow propagation velocity, atherosclerosis, inflammation.

AIM of the study was to compare serum levels of IGF-1, IGF-2 and insulin‑like growth factor‑binding protein 3 (IGFBP-3) among non‑obese and obese PCOS women, and to assess their relationship to metabolic and hormonal parameters. The study included 64 women diagnosed with PCOS (age 28.9 ± 5 years); 30 of them with BMI > 27 and 34 with BMI lower than 27. All subjects were examined for parameters of glucose and lipid metabolism, steroid hormones and serum IGF-1, IGF-2 and IGFBP-3 levels.

Psychological testing to examine potentially aggressive behaviour is a gold standard, but it is not sufficient. Testosterone might increase an aggressive behaviour. ⋯ To conclude, salivary testosterone might prove a biological marker that improves the identification of those with a high probability of aggressive driving or its subtypes (Tab. 3, Ref. 53).

Predominant molecules in Peganum harmala leaves were detected using gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). Based on the results of this analysis, most alkaloids, flavonoids and triterpenoids in found P. harmala was compiled from the literature in order to develop and lead the production of effective inhibitor drugs for ACE2, main protease, and RNA dependent RNA polymerase (RdRp) proteins of SARS-CoV-2 virus, which is today's most contagious and deadly disease. ⋯ P. harmala molecules were selected as drug candidates from the PubChem web tool. Afterwards, molecular docking calculations of these inhibitor molecules were made with Maestro Molecular modeling program by Schrödinger. The comparison of molecules with high inhibitory activities with FDA-approved drugs was made. With molecular mechanics Poisson-Boltzmann surface area (MM-PBSA) calculations, docking calculations of molecules that have high inhibitory activity, were tried to be verified by calculations in the range of 0-100 nanoseconds (Tab. 4, Fig. 6, Ref. 53).
