Covid-19 pandemic is spreading rapidly in Turkey. We aimed to examine the numbers and demographic data of patients who applied to the general surgery outpatient clinics and operated in this process. Our primary outcome is to reveal the response of general surgery patients to the Covid-19 pandemic. ⋯ It is not easy to control the entrance and exit of these busy hospitals. The remote diagnosis (mail, phone or video-call) and treatment methods that can be expected in the near future may be even closer with the Corona virus (Tab. 3, Fig. 4, Ref. 15). Keywords: general surgery, Covid-19, outpatient clinics, operation, reaction of patients.

Periodontal health should be defined as a state free from inflammatory periodontal disease that allows an individual to function normally and not suffer any consequences (mental or physical) as a result of past disease. Tissues located in the vicinity of implants, known as peri-implantation tissues, have specific and in many ways similar anatomy. The elaborate protocol of preventive measures to ensure periodontal health is extremely important. ⋯ Herein, we describe that the periodontal health can serve as a vital common reference point for assessing disease, determining meaningful preventive methods and treatment outcomes. This article mainly focuses on the role of new clinical data regarding periodontal health and motivational interviewing, which received a particular attention in recent years such as motivation for abidance and on the prognosis of periodontal health (Tab. 3, Ref. 26). Randomized Controlled Trial
Single‑incision mesh vs sacrospinous ligament fixation in posthysterectomy women at a three-year follow-up: a randomized trial.
The primary clinical objective was to prospectively compare the effectiveness of the "single‑incisionMESH" technique versus sacrospinous ligament fixation (ACSSF) in correcting the defect of pelvic organ prolapse(POP) in the anterior and apical compartments, Their effectiveness was assessed at a 1-year/3-year follow-up (FU). ⋯ Our study showed that the vaginal synthetic mesh repair of POP did not improve women's outcomes in terms of effectiveness or adverse effects, while the patient satisfaction is the same as compared to that with sacrospinous ligament fixation at a 3‑year FU. In gynecology, there are situations in which the comparison replaces the scientific solution (Tab. 5, Fig. 2, Ref. 50). Text in PDF www.elis.sk Keywords: sacrospinous ligament fixation, quality of life index, synthetic mesh, randomized trial, prolapse.

Comparative Study
The comparison of modified minimally invasive and open surgical approaches in the treatment of epithelial thymic tumours.
Exploring the efficacy of a modified combined minimally invasive approach in patients with thymoma regardless of myasthenia gravis involvement in contrast to open surgery as the mainstay of treatment. ⋯ Our results showed the modified maximal minimally invasive thymectomy to be an effective and safe method, and after overcoming the learning curve, even superior to open surgery in cases with lower tumour stages in terms of its extent (Tab. 3, Fig. 1, Ref. 49).

Our understanding of the mechanisms responsible for death of aged people from Covid-19 became one of the major concerns of these days. Glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) enhances the normal senescence and accelerates the precocious removal of chronologically young, yet biologically aged cells. Thus, its deficiency is associated with an increase in the cellular oxidative stress. ⋯ Unfortunately, this enzyme deficiency markedly decreases with aging what is involved in increasing of the morbidity rate. The aim of this mini review was to shed more light on the role of G6PD deficiency in aged people infected with Covid-19 (Ref. 20). Keywords: GSPD, Covid-19, elderly people.
