Inflammation is a common feature of all chronic liver diseases and atherosclerosis. The article discusses the participation of cytokines and inflammasomes in the process of development of metabolically associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD) and the ways of their activation under the influence of inductive stimuli (toxins, alcohol, fat, viruses, etc.), most often in the case of disruption of intestinal permeability through toll-like receptors with an imbalance in the composition of intestinal microflora and bile acids. ⋯ The article emphasizes the importance of the liver-intestinal axis and modulation of microbiome, as well as calls attention to the influence of the circadian rhythm of the 12-hour pacemaker on gene production in NASH (non-alcoholic steatohepatitis) developing (Fig. 4, Ref. 56). Keywords: NASH, MAFLD, microbiome, lipotoxicity, bile acids, inflammasomes.

The aim of this study is to identify the influence of factors that determine the refusal of influenza vaccine among three subjects groups. ⋯ The general lack of vaccination awareness has a fundamental role in forming a negative attitude toward influenza vaccine. It is necessary to conduct research to promote vaccination against influenza to improve vaccine uptake among high‑risk groups, particularly in students (Tab. 1, Fig. 1, Ref. 32).

COVID-19 is caused by SARS-CoV-2 virus and turned into a pandemic in a short time, affects many organs and systems, especially the nervous system. In the present study, it was aimed to determine the morphological and volumetric changes in cortical and subcortical structures in recovered COVID-19 patients. ⋯ As a result, it was seen that COVID-19 negatively affected many structures related to the nervous system. This study is a pioneering study to determine the consequences of COVID-19, especially in the nervous system, and to determine the etiology of these possible problems (Tab. 4, Fig. 5, Ref. 25). The work was aimed to determine the level of oral dysbiosis of patients depending on the type of prosthetics constructures. ⋯ Quantitative indicators of the composition of the microbiota of the cervical areas of denture wearers have significant differences and different levels of dysbiosis of the oral cavity, depending on the type of dentures in the patients' mouth (Tab. 2, Fig. 1, Ref. 21).
