This work was aimed at analyzing in-hospital, 30-day and 1-year mortality rates, impact of selected cardiovascular factors on mortality of patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) manifested on electrocardiogram (ECG) and treated by the percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) at our cardiac center, comparing the subgroup of non-shock (survivors and deceased) patients after STEMI and evaluating how these patients differ from each other. ⋯ Shock patients differed in terms of mortality in post-PCI TIMI flow, while non-shock patients varied in troponin and NT-proBNP levels. Despite early intervention, certain risk factors might affect the clinical outcome and prognosis of patients with STEMI treated by PCI (Tab. 5, Fig. 1, Ref. 30). Monitoring the vaccination of pregnant women against pertussis - single-centre one-year study in the Czech Republic.
This observational study aimed to analyse data from big maternity hospital, determine the vaccination coverage and provide source information for further activities. ⋯ It is necessary to raise awareness of recommendations for pregnancy vaccination among public and professionals, to emphasize the benefits of such vaccination in order to increase the vaccination coverage (Tab. 3, Ref. 31). Text in PDF www.elis.sk Keywords: pertussis, whooping cough, pregnancy, vaccination, health knowledge, prevention.

To investigate interfractional motion of the mesorectum and bladder and to assess dosimetric changes using cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) during neoadjuvant radiotherapy for locally advanced rectal cancer patients. ⋯ During radiotherapy planning, the mesorectal movement should not be forgotten and PTV margins should be determined accordingly (Tab. 6, Ref. 22). Text in PDF www.elis.sk Keywords: cone-beam computed tomography, rectal cancer, mesorectum, interfractional organ motion, neoadjuvant radiotherapy.

The aim was to investigate the prognostic accuracy of admission ECG and its usefulness in determining the population at the highest risk of worse outcomes. ⋯ The presence of ischemic changes in ECG in chest pain population with AMI suspicion increases the risk of MACE. The group at highest risk of MACE can by identified by the additional stratification with the admission single hs-TnT measurement (Tab. 2, Fig. 4, Ref. 40). Text in PDF www.elis.sk Keywords: acute coronary syndromes, cardiac troponin, electrocardiogram, emergency department, chest pain.

Case Reports Observational Study
Abnormal kidney ultrasound and function in a five-year-old boy born prematurely with a birth weight of 370 grams.
It is known that prematurity and low birth weight are associated with chronic kidney disease and hypertension. A positive correlation between kidney volume and birth weight was also described. ⋯ We believe that thorough follow up and timely diagnosis of developing renal insufficiency may help us to initiate proper treatment in high-risk children (Tab. 1, Fig. 1, Ref. 7). Text in PDF www.elis.sk Keywords: prematurity; extremely low birth weight; chronic kidney disease; renal ultrasound; renal function.
