To explain the bio-physiological mechanisms of the antidiabetic effect of betulinic acid in Lotus rhizome. ⋯ The triterpenoid, Betulinic acid exerts its antidiabetic effect via seven bio-physiological mechanisms including, inhibiting α-glucosidase and α-amylase, upregulating the expression of peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma coactivator-1 α, enhancing AS160 protein phosphorylation, stimulating adenosine monophosphate-activated protein kinase activation, stimulating Glucose transporter type 4 synthesis and translocation, inhibiting Protein Tyrosine Phosphatase 1 B activity preventing dephosphorylation of insulin receptor and stimulating Takeda-G-protein-receptor-5 resulting in an increased release of insulin from insulin-containing granulesCONCLUSION: The available scientific knowledge explains that betulinic acid in Lotus rhizome can improve glucose homeostasis contributing to the antidiabetic effect of this root (Tab. 1, Fig. 6, Ref. 29).

The neuro developmental condition known as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) affects people on a lifetime basis and exhibits itself in a wide range of ways. In this research work a brand-new semi-supervised training method for the recognition of discrete multi-modal autism spectrum disorder is proposed. At the coarse-grained level, we consider that various methodologies are anticipated to explore equivalent information about child autism. ⋯ Deep Coupled AlexNet is developed to obtain 98.13 % of accuracy, 95.1 % of precision, 94.3 % of recall and 95.4 of F1-score for OMEGE dataset. Moreover, 98.6 % of accuracy, 97.2 % of precision, 98.5 of recall and 97.5 % of F1-score for DIAEMO dataset (Tab. 8, Fig. 10, Ref. 16). Keywords: autism spectrum disorder, artificial neural networks, emotion recognition, interaction design, multimodal factors.

Cisplatin is commonly used in the treatment of lung, genitourinary, and gastrointestinal cancers. Peripheral neuropathy is the most important side effect, leading to a decrease in the dose of cisplatin or its complete cessation in the early period. 16 rats were given cisplatin at a dose of 2.5 mg/ kg/day twice a week for 4 weeks to induce neuropathy model. The rats taking Cisplatin were divided into 2 groups. ⋯ Besides, histological examinations showed an increase in axon diameter and NGF expression with Propofol treatment. This study demonstrated that Propofol exerts protective activity against cisplatin-induced neurotoxicity by increasing endogenous antioxidants and reducing lipid peroxidation and inflammation (Tab. 3, Fig. 4, Ref. 30). Malate, the tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycle intermediary, upregulates renal nitric oxide (NO) signaling, and NO is renoprotective in nephropathy. ⋯ Malate ameliorated the injury and inflammation but selectively reduced fibrosis in obstructive nephropathy (Fig. 6, Ref. 32). Text in PDF www.elis.sk Keywords: Malate, tricarboxylic acid cycle, nitric oxide, kidney injury molecule (KIM-1), obstructive nephropathy.
