The repeated exposure of normal cells to carcinogenic agents may lead to mutations in their genetic material, changing them into cancerous cells. In this case, the structure and function of these cells would alter, and they would not behave like a normal cell. Treatment of cancer by bacteria is a promising and new strategy. ⋯ Besides describing H. pylori virulent factors and their role in cancer incidence, we also discuss how their potentials can significantly be strengthened and used for cancer treatment. This review results suggest that some factors of H. pylori can be exploited as therapeutic agents for cancer therapy in future (Tab. 1, Fig. 3, Ref. 77). Keywords: apoptosis induction, bacteriotherapy, cancer treatment, Helicobacter pylori.

The aim of this cross-sectional study was to investigate the determinants of COVID-19 vaccine acceptance in University of Defence members. ⋯ To increase the vaccination rate it is necessary to target the younger population and increase awareness of vaccine safety and efficacy. If these measures are not sufficient to encourage voluntary vaccine acceptance, consideration should be given to making vaccination mandatory for selected professional groups (Tab. 5, Fig. 1, Ref. 25).

The aim of this study was to evaluate the potential of supportive therapy by natural polyphenols combined with vitamins C and E on kidney function and risk factors of cardiovascular diseases in renal transplant recipients (RTR). ⋯ We could summarize that supportive therapy improves the renal function (GFR, serum creatinine), and reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease by affecting important risk markers of atherosclerosis (lipid profile, paraoxonase 1 activity, neopterin and ADMA) in RTR (Tab. 4, Fig. 1, Ref. 53).

Purpose of the study is the assessment of the effectiveness of renal denervation with different types of catheters, as well as its long-term effects, in the patients with resistant hypertension. ⋯ Our results demonstrated the efficiency and safety of renal denervation in both short-term and long-term follow-up using monopolar and spiral catheters in the treatment of uncontrolled hypertension with combined antihypertensive therapy. The most significant is the demonstrated stability of the effect after the procedure. In addition, the survival rate of the patients with resistant hypertension after the intervention has been carried out (Tab. 2, Fig. 3, Ref. 22).

High prevalence of cardiovascular diseases is present in benign prostatic hyperplasia patients. Risk prediction models were developed for early identification of these cardiovascular risks. We aimed to evaluate cardiovascular metabolic and autonomic predictors in relation to lower urinary tract symptoms' severity evaluated by the IPSS score. ⋯ Our study results suggest the presence of a combination of hormonal and inflammatory changes in BPH patients affecting the severity of LUTS which is correlated with metabolic and autonomic parameters that can predict an increased risk of CVD (Tab. 3, Ref. 47).
